This summer didn't go according to plan at all, maybe I should say that this whole year has been a very poor running year for me. When my hamstring finally had healed up and I felt hope for a good summer, the lack of consistency in running this winter and spring unfortunately resulted in another injury in my right shin. I have been spending time on the bike and in the pool on Öland and in Romsdalen instead of preparing for UTMB in the alps. The silver lining was to be able to spend more time with family on Öland during a summer which some years I don't have the time or the possibility to do.

I will never turn into an enthusiastic biker, but I have been motivating myself with podcasts and fika stops. Ripping off some intervals on the trainer, I have gotten so used to through the years, so once I accepted that this is how it's going to be for a while, I'm pretty good at just turning off from what is enjoyable or motivating and just get it done.

Now I'm looking forward to follow this weeks racing from home. Good luck to everyone racing!

For me, hopefully there is still another year.

Unfortunately not what I hoped for yesterday. Uphills were rough after the sickness, but with just that I think I had made it to the finish line, but when I already started to feel nausa after 28 K and with no energy or fluid and some 🤢🤮 I had to give up at Le Tour at 60 K where I was too dizzy and slow to continue.

Only positive I can say about the race is that my hamstring is totally fine and I got to experience an amazing sunrise over Mt Blanc.

Thank you so much @fannybor @johannaaastrom and @mimmikotka for being out there for me on a tough day. 🙏

@marathondumontblanc here we go again.

I ran the marathon in 2016 🥇 and 2017 and 2018🥈
Now it's time to finally be back in Chamonix for the last weekend of june which is probably the most intense trailrunning race weekend of the year with exciting races to follow everywhere.

This year I will try to bring all the steep hiking I have done this spring to use in the MB 90 K race. Preparations hasn't been what I would normally do, but I'm very happy that I'm finally healthy enough in the hamstring to enter a longer race.

Now I try to cough up the last bit of an unfortunately cold the last week and fill up my bottles with sugar and have my hiking poles ready. 4.45 on Friday morning we take off around the Chamonix valley! taken in Chamonix, France by @idanilssi

Happy birthday to my amazing mother Katarina! 💐🎂❤️

I came for a lovely long weekend on Öland to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday (and on the same day 🇸🇪 national day)

I don't spend enough time here in the summers any longer, but a few days with my parents, nieces and more family was wonderful. taken in Löttorp by @idanilssi

Happy to put a bib on my chest again and to be able to join the fun on muddy trails at @molde7topper this weekend.

The last two weeks I finally feel I have made some progress with the hamstring and upgraded my training from very "mostly hiking" steep to moderate runnable steep.
All of a sudden I have so many options for training again compared to "Oh I will just do some more Nesaksla today" (People who follows me on Strava knows 😂🫣)

So I'm hopeful that the summer will be more interesting both training and racing wise! by @idanilssi

The hamstring issue I had this winter have been more serious than I first thought with a rupture in the hamstring attachment and has taken a long time to heal. Finally it is a little bit better, but still not good enough. I have run out of time to prepare well for Western States and unfortunately had to drop out of the race. I had been looking forward to be back for a fourth time and try my best, but running is tough and there are never any for sures to make it to a start or finish line.

The positive thing is that I can still do some running/hiking, steep up with poles and steep running downhill is the activity that works best for the hamstring, so not good or the right training at all for @wser but might be a good start and more suitable training for another big race later this summer instead!
My hope and focus right now is to become healthy and fit to make it around a big mountain in the end of August instead. by @idanilssi

Zegama-Aizkorri is celebrating 25 years and I have the honor to be invited with all the previous winners of the race.

The win here 2018 will forever be one of my top favorite race experiences and wins in my life. It is few, if any race you get to do with such an amazing support, ambiance and crowd around you. This win was also special because I really didn't expect it, so it was all just pure happiness at the finish line.

This year it has been great meeting up with people I have not seen in a long time and yesterday I was racing a shortened VK. It felt nostalgic to stand with @lauraorgue on the startline again like we did in 2018. 😊

I will not be racing the marathon, but this is a race I'm actually really looking forward to be cheering among the fans instead. Even if I'm not always a runner, I will always be a running fan!

Let's see what happens in the mud tomorrow!
