An icon pulls into the foreground.

A little history repeating itself on the Boston waterfront.
Queen Mary 2 in the foreground with the IDB behind her. More than 80 years ago, the original Queen Mary came through this same South Boston working waterfront during World War II, when the buildings that would become the IDB served the Army Base and the neighboring Naval Annex was repairing and refitting ships.

Not your average view from the IDB.

Remember the magic of the Scholastic Book Fair? The wish lists, the new book smell, and the very serious decision of which title was coming home with you.

We’re bringing a little of that childhood magic back to IDB today through Thursday, with books for kids of all ages and an even better reason to shop: 50% of all sales will benefit the Joseph P. Tynan Elementary School in South Boston.

Stop by The Lounge at IDB from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, find a favorite for the little reader in your life, and help us turn good memories into something good for our neighborhood. taken in The Innovation and Design Building by @idbldg
