IDENTICAL COUSINS PRESENTS: A TWIN PEAKS TRIBUTE 🦉🌲

That gum you like is back in style. Identical Cousins are back with an overdue return to our o.g. obsession: Twin Peaks.

You’re invited to inhabit the wonderful and strange dream that is Twin Peaks with us, as we pay tribute to the cult classic at Myrtle, East Providence November 8th. 🌲✨

Featuring performances from...

🌹 @juleecruisedirector
An all-femme/non-binary tribute to the Angelo Badalamenti soundtrack and adjacent hits, all finger snaps, vibes, and infinite fade-outs.

@blk.ldg.pvd
Providence-based doom jazz for the late hours. Dark, atmospheric, perfectly suited to a night spent in that liminal space between the Red Room and the Roadhouse.

🚬 @celiasmokinbutts
Performing her legendary KILLER BOB drag.

🪵 @holy.crow as Our Lady of the Log
Her Log has something to say — we think you probably ought to listen.

💀 @existential.thread.co
A pop-up from Providence’s own purveyor of vintage supplies for coping with the burden of awareness.

🎧 @rich.wentworth
Your host and DJ for the evening, spinning the soundtrack to whatever happens next.

Come for the music. Wear something Twin Peaks-worthy. Drink some damn fine cocktails.🍒🥃

Thank you so much for partaking in a little messy joy with us as we celebrated the incomparable Catherine O’Hara yesterday @crystalballroomsomerville

A very special thanks to our congregation of cousins who really turned it out for this show, we are forever in awe of your humor and creativity, you make it happen!

Every time we take on a new subject for one of our productions we get to do a little deep dive into their lives and work and getting to know Catherine has been a pleasure.

This world can be cold and cruel sometimes but getting to gather with our community and celebrate is what it’s about.

Catherine said it best…

“I think everyone is born funny. Sadly, some lives beat it out of them…I was encouraged to see the humor in life..I know some hilarious people whose sense of humor saved them from their lives.”

And Moira said it better…

“Don’t let the bastards get you down!”

With love, till next time,

Your Identical Cousins 💋

“Our lives are like little bébé crows carried upon a curious wind.”

A line of pure Schitt’s Creek wisdom, now immortalized in fabric and created by artist, Lauren Leone.

Lauren is an artist and art therapist working predominantly in textiles, exploring identity, connection, and communication. She facilitates collaborative, community-based art projects — often through quilting, a practice with a long history of bringing people together to share stories, address community issues, and organize.

Lauren is especially drawn to the tradition of memorial quilts, textile tributes made to honor, remember, and mourn.

This year we lost two extraordinary women to cancer: Catherine O’Hara, who gave us decades of joy on screen, and our dear Identical Aunt Aileen Arzeno, a longtime collaborator and beloved part of the Identical Cousins family who helped bring so many Crystal Ballroom nights to life.

Lauren has graciously allowed us to put this quilt up for silent auction at Sunday’s event, with all proceeds donated to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, in memory of our dear Identical Aunt Aileen.

In addition ticket proceeds and $3 from every drink off the featured cocktail menu on Sunday will also be donated to DFCI, in Aileen’s memory.

Come bid, come drink, come honor two extraordinary women.

Meet Noell Dorsey—singer, songwriter, improviser, experimental vocalist, and one of the many phenomenal creatures assembling for HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS (ALL OF THEM!), our multimedia celebration of the fabulous and one-of-a-kind Catherine O’Hara at the Crystal Ballroom on August 23.

Noell is the lead singer of Boston heavy psych-outfit Major Stars, exotica synth darlings Hidden Fountain, and modular synth wizards Violet Nox. She also moonlights as Julee Cruise in the Twin Peaks cover band Julee Cruise Director and once appeared as Dee Schneider in the Identical Cousins’ Pee-Wee tribute at the Crystal Ballroom. In other words, she is a woman of many voices and apparently many wigs.

For HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, Noell will be joining our Catherine O’Hara devotees for an evening of music, comedy, drag, dancing, scene karaoke, holiday pageantry, and a reverent amount of tasteful nonsense.
