FOUNDING PARTNERSHIP EVENING

An evening of vision, hope and opportunity

For 12 years, AAIC has worked throughout the community to prevent the devastating effects of ice and other drugs, provide education, support, early intervention and helping individuals create pathways towards long term recovery.

Our community work includes forums that raise awareness and encourage open conversations about addiction, recovery and prevention; drug-education programs; school prevention workshops; and early intervention through our L.E.A.S.E. program—Lived Experience Advocacy, Support and Empowerment. Through L.E.A.S.E., people and families affected by addiction can access lived-experience support, guidance, encouragement and connections as well as appropriate services.

For more than four years, AAIC has also worked closely with young people in Brisbane Youth Detention Centre and youth justice , helping young people transition towards a life free of drug use and ultimately a life worth living.

Our work begins before a young person leaves detention. Through drug-prevention education workshops, early intervention, lived-experience Buddy connections and personalised transition support, we begin building trust, hope and a pathway forward.

Pathway to Recovery continues that journey after release through a safe and supported 6–12-month sober-living program. Here, young people can strengthen their recovery, discover hope and create a life of purpose—moving towards education, employment, positive community connections and sustainable independence.
