IDEO (pronounced “EYE-dee-oh”) is a global design consultancy helping the world’s most audacious dreamers create braver tomorrows.

POSTS STORIES REELS

At IDEO we’ve always believed that human-centered design is crucial to business success.

This year we set out to test that hypothesis.

We surveyed leaders from 100 global companies about five core cultural behaviors: Perspective, Ownership, Wavelength, Experimentation, and Resonance, then mapped them against key business outcomes. The results speak for themselves.

Across industries, an organization’s internal culture is one of the most reliable signals of its future performance.

The opportunity is clear. How will you ensure your organization is ready to take it?

Craft is creative agency.

We learn it so we get to decide, not just execute.

So we evaluate AI’s output, not the other way around.

So we can shape taste, name meaning, and challenge systems.

@postit. A colorful slip of paper elevated to a core design tool for the IDEO team. From brainstorming to planning, doodling to daydreaming, there’s a Post-it for every occasion.

The walls of our global studios are plastered with Post-its generated by the team. This means our walls are visibly lined with a tangible and spatial record of our continuously evolving insights, notions, and logical structures. With Post-its containing single thoughts and ideas, it is possible to freely move them about, exploring different thematic clusterings and logical structures—essentially becoming a map of our current perspectives.

Want to try it for yourself? Here are some of our Post-it best practices:
🟧One thought per Post-it.
🟦Be succinct and distilled.
🟪Write or draw boldly.
🟦Surround yourself. Make it ambient.
🟧Continuously evolve it. by @ideo

Mid-Autumn is a festival experienced through the senses, the glow of a full moon, the cool autumn breeze, and the scent of osmanthus.

To celebrate, IDEO Shanghai created a custom woodblock printing set inspired by Chinese folk printmaking.

Making has always been part of how we think and work at IDEO, and through this gift, we want to thank every partner who has created alongside us.

What makes an organization future-fit?
Ways of working that set the conditions for continued success.

We call this the POWER Dynamic framework.

👀 Perspective: Looking past immediate competitors to anticipate culture.

🩷 Ownership: Empowering teams to work autonomously and go beyond the status quo.

👂🏼 Wavelength: Fostering deep, cross-functional collaboration.

🤏🏽 Experimentation: Swiftly turning ideas into market-ready solutions.

👄 Resonance: Deeply understanding and delivering on customer needs.

Companies that excel at these behaviors see double the growth and future-readiness as those that don’t.

How do we know? For our inaugural IDEO IQ report, we surveyed leaders across 100 global companies to see what sets top-performing teams apart.

For too long, robots have been portrayed as something cold and industrial. But what if they were something else entirely? Forgetful, or viscous, or fluttering?

Robots aren't constrained by history or the need to look like us. So we created a toolkit to help anyone expand the design language of robots beyond the status quo.

As machines enter our homes and public spaces, what we build now will shape how billions feel about technology, the future, and themselves.

When your core audience is shrinking, how do you win a new one? 🍜

Reinvent the category.

That's what Master Kong did. China's leading noodle maker came to us as instant noodle sales were dropping. Together we discovered that people still wanted stove-free convenience, but they craved real, healthy noodle-shop quality.

Now, Master Kong has created a "fresh-brewed" category:
🥢 Irregular, dimensional noodles that stay springy using only hot water.
🥢 A vegetable packet reformulated with more premium whole ingredients.
🥢 A custom, heat-retaining lid that embeds real wooden chopsticks to elevate the eating ritual.

When technology is designed to keep us glued to our screens, it’s up to us to design a future that brings people together.

At IDEO London’s Build-to-Think AI Hackathon, we spent two days focused on ways to use AI to strengthen human connection.

Seven teams of designers, researchers, students, and educators joined forces for a rapid sprint with @lovable.dev to turn concepts into functional product demos.

When loneliness becomes a public health epidemic, intergenerational spaces are a lifeline. We need places for younger and older people to gather and inhabit together, not in the future, but now.

IDEO’s @jeninayutuc spoke to three experts who have spent their lives inhabiting and making them.

Fandoms like Heated Rivalry are building a new economy through Memes-as-a-Product (MAAP).

From “cottage” memes to Hilary Duff’s “giving us nothing” tour, fans aren’t just remixing culture—they’re operating it.

If they’re building the third spaces brands won’t, what does it mean to “own” a story?
