Istanbul-based live music platform documenting the city's diverse alternative music scene

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Mama Goblin turned Orhan Veli Kanık’s iconic poem “Istanbul’u Dinliyorum” into a song for our short documentary about Istanbul’s independent music scene.

It’s a part of the film’s soundtrack, connecting the Istanbul of the poem with our own way of listening to the city now.

📺 COSMOS Film Premiere: @idgk.tv (Istanbul, Turkey)

Every year, COSMOS – our hybrid platform highlighting independent music scenes from around the world – links up with new partners for a series of short-but-powerful documentaries.

This time, we’re heading over to Kadıköy, Istanbul, where IDGK are capturing the buzzing energy of the city’s live band circuit.

“The film is an introduction to what the Istanbul music scene is, or better, how it sounds. As we keep on recording, the scene keeps shifting too. There’s much more that will unfold.”

📍Now on our YouTube channel: Fanikedi Live at Yuva

Fanikedi is a singer-songwriter who has been releasing music independently since 2013. Starting with songs shared on SoundCloud, which became a part of 2014 debut EP, kendimi evde bıraktım, Fanikedi developed a very deep and personal, entirely self-made world across each new release.

The songs picked for the Yuva session come from different albums and moments in life, meanwhile they are all connected by feelings of tenderness, frustration, and memory, carrying the intimacy of overhearing private conversations. We invite you to step inside that world and listen.
