Man, what a great show. First off, thank you to my co-writer Samantha Worden and DeVonté Majors for helping me man the booth at Rose City Comic Con ‘26. I couldn’t do it without ya’ll 🫡

This year felt special. As I was preparing for Rose City, and trying to perfect/upgrade our booth design, it dawned on me this is Year Three of our Grind. Thinking back to our first convention booth, with no comics, just lithographs and 1 popup banner, decorated with flyers…I’m grateful for how far we’ve come 🥹

This weekend we had a blast. At least half of the people who visited the booth were returning fans, looking to complete their collections with Issue 2, or adding our special edition covers. We made lots of new supporters & introduced them to Cyanide Kisses, had close friends pop up, reconnected with con friends, made new ones, got invited to an industry gathering (didn’t go, but next year I’ll try to save the battery 🪫), directed a close fan & aspiring writer to connect with Big Dogs in the industry (who gave him over an hour of their time & promised future support), almost shed a tear when he hugged me and thanked me later, traded a Metal Cover for an amazing sketch from Mr. David Mack, got approached by a line of comic stores opening south of me looking for appearance/signings, got a few tips on getting into the bigger conventions, gave away some foil covers, told some crazy stories, made some people laugh & overall had a great time. We even raffled off that original vinyl banner, from our 1st show, to 1 lucky fan

Rose City is the best & understands the Creatives, not the Celebrities, are the life blood of these shows. Always my favorite con to wrap up the year. So all in all, a great weekend at a great venue 😊 (even if I was so busy I forgot my shoes and showed up, in the rain the last day, in slides/flipflops 😆) taken in Rose City Comic Con by @idia_ink

Shout out to Nick Dragotta for boldly shaking up the status quo, with his visual designs in Absolute Batman. He helped birthed a movement at DC, where I now see 2 full bookcases of Absolute DC comics, at my lcbs by @idia_ink
