🌷🐛My exhibition at Galerie Patricia Dorfmann presents the UBIQUITOUS project as a methodological and research laboratory, tracing an ongoing process of exploration and creation that began in 2016.

This exhibition is also the occasion for the public presentation of my Master’s thesis at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, which I will be sharing on Friday, May 30 at 2:30 PM.

Inspired by lichens, the project emerges at the intersection of art, architecture, and science, exploring how natural intelligence can shape a more sensitive, evolving, and speculative urbanism—connected to the living.

Ayfer İdil Kemaloğlu completed her residency at August this year.
Focusing on biomimicry in her work, the artist deepened her research by collecting lichen samples from 27 trees she identified along a route she named “Olive Road” in Gate 27 Ayvalık. For Kemaloğlu, lichens—natural bioindicators—serve as a shared point of dialogue connecting the themes of climate change, sustainability, and urban planning.

As part of the “Grassroots Organizations in Youth Climate Action” workshop, organized by Kentimiz İzmir Association in collaboration with Fondazione Santagata, I had the opportunity to present my ongoing artistic research project, “Ubiquitous: Toward a Homeostatic Ecology,” developed at K2 Urla as a guest artist of the “Deniz Villaları: Ecological Crossings” residency program.

Beyond presenting my research, I participated in the workshops and had the opportunity to introduce Ubiquitous.Lab - @ubilab25 , our association established within the framework of the ESS² incubator in France, extending my artistic research into collective action at the intersection of art, science, and society.

The workshop explored how culture, art, and creativity can contribute to a more sustainable future, with collective outcomes intended to contribute to the Democracy in Action project and discussions surrounding COP31.

Dans le cadre de l’atelier « Grassroots Organizations in Youth Climate Action », organisé par Kentimiz İzmir en collaboration avec la Fondazione Santagata, j’ai eu l’occasion de présenter mon projet de recherche artistique « Ubiquitous: Toward a Homeostatic Ecology », que je développe actuellement à K2 Urla en tant qu’artiste invitée du programme de résidence « Deniz Villaları: Ecological Crossings ».

J’ai également participé à cet atelier et eu le plaisir de présenter Ubiquitous.Lab, notre association créée dans le cadre de l’incubateur ESS² en France, qui prolonge ma recherche artistique vers une démarche collective, à la croisée de l’art, de la science et de la société.

Cette rencontre a permis d’explorer la manière dont la culture, l’art et la créativité peuvent contribuer à un avenir plus durable, avec pour objectif de nourrir le projet Democracy in Action ainsi que les réflexions menées dans le cadre de la COP31. taken in K2 Urla Nefes Alanı by @idil.ist
