There’s something interesting about recognition.

An award doesn’t make the work better overnight, and it certainly doesn’t make someone the “best.”

There will always be better films to discover, better filmmakers to learn from, and work that never gets seen by a jury at all.

But recognition does have its place.

Sometimes, after years of making things your own way, it gives you a moment to pause and think:

Maybe this is working.
Maybe I should trust this instinct a little more.

A few days ago, a pre-wedding film I shot and directed for Jodi Clickers received Best Pre-Wedding Film at the WeddingSutra Awards.

It adds another chapter to a journey that already includes a Pre-Wedding Film Runner Up at WeddingSutra in 2023, a Top 15 nomination for Best Wedding Filmmaker, and a Pre-Wedding Film Runner Up at the Capturing WOW Awards.

I never started making films with awards in mind.

The real pursuit has always been the same: make something worth watching, find better ways to tell a story, and slowly build a language of my own.

And the funny thing about creative work is that it is never really yours alone.

Every film carries pieces of the people you work with, the people who challenge you, the people who inspire you, the places you’ve been, the conversations you’ve had, and all the things you’ve experienced along the way.

So this one belongs to more people than just the person holding the trophy.

A good milestone. A useful reminder. And then, back to work.

Cheers to everyone who’s been part of the journey, knowingly or unknowingly.

Many more films to make.

Some films are made.
Some films are felt.

Bhakti & Amol’s wedding was one of those stories that made us forget the cameras were even there. The laughter, the chaos, the tears, the little glances, the people who made it what it was, we just tried to hold on to all of it.

And now, after all the days of shooting, editing, arguing over frames, changing music, watching it a hundred times and still finding something new…

we finally get to share it.

This one is very close to us.
Not because it’s perfect.
But because it’s real.

There’s a kind of photograph we’ve come to prefer over the years, the one where nothing is technically happening. A hand mid-gesture. A breath before a signature. The half-second where two people know something has changed but haven’t said it aloud yet.

Bhakti and Amol’s signing gave us a morning full of those.

We didn’t walk in with a shot list. We rarely do anymore. What we’ve learned, after enough weddings to lose count, is that the moments worth keeping are the ones nobody plans — the quiet exchange of a pen, a friend’s hand resting on a shoulder without thinking, the particular stillness of a room that’s chosen to be small on purpose.

Twenty people. No procession. No performance for anyone beyond the table itself. In a life that’s often public by necessity, this was neither — just two names being written in front of the few people who’d earned the right to watch.

We photograph weddings the way we’d want to be remembered ourselves: not through spectacle, but through the details a person only notices if they’re actually paying attention. The way light sits differently on a room once something has been decided. The exhale that comes right after. The version of a smile that isn’t for anyone but the two people wearing it.

This is the part of our work we care most about — not the ceremony, but everything the ceremony makes visible in the people standing around it.

Some mornings just ask to be witnessed quietly. We consider it a privilege when we’re the ones allowed to do it.

Some weddings are remembered because they are grand.

Some are remembered because they are honest.

Neha and Abhishek knew from the very beginning that they didn’t want a wedding for everyone else. They wanted a day that felt like them. Just the people who mattered, a quiet sundowner, the calm of the lake, trees standing still, and a sunset that almost felt like it had slowed down for them.

Nothing was rushed. Nothing was performed.

When we make films, we aren’t trying to document a schedule. We’re trying to preserve a feeling. That’s why this film isn’t about the functions, the crowd, or moments created just for the camera. It’s about two people, exactly as they are, and the space they created for their love to exist without noise.

You’ll notice we stayed on the sky a little longer than most films would. We kept the stillness of the sunset, not because it looked beautiful, but because years from now, I want them to remember that sun. The one that quietly watched over one of the most important evenings of their lives. Some memories deserve more than a passing shot.

Years from now, I hope they won’t remember what happened at 6:30 PM or which ritual came next.

I hope they’ll remember how it felt to look at each other. The warmth of that evening. The silence between the trees. The colors of the sky.

Because that’s what a wedding should leave behind.

Some love stories are not performed.
They are lived in silence, in glances, in the space between two heartbeats.

With Brij & Swati, we didn’t just capture a pre wedding, we stepped into a world that felt suspended in time. Inside the timeless corridors of the House of MG, every frame carried the softness of old India. The richness of heritage, the poetry of quiet gestures, eyes speaking what words never could. It all unfolded like a classic black & white Indian cinema romance, intimate, graceful, deeply rooted in culture.

And then, as the story moved forward, love evolved with the light.
From heritage walls to open skies, from vintage stillness to the freedom of the sea breeze, sunsets, hilltops, and the modern rhythm of companionship.

A film between two eras.
Where tradition met today, and romance remained eternal.

It was just a simple moment.
One shot… nothing planned, nothing forced.

And then they saw it.

The way their expressions changed… the quiet, the smiles, the emotion, it all just landed.

In that moment, it didn’t feel like we were showing them a film.
It felt like we were giving them something they could hold onto forever.

Hearing them say our names, appreciating what we created…
that’s the part that stays with us.
