NEWS 🗞️: Drake’s Aug. 8, 2026, Kick stream was a three-hour ninth-anniversary broadcast for a gambling site with NELK’s Kyle Forgeard that critics saw as a midlife-crisis spectacle, combining live gambling, over $1 million in prizes and a 20-woman speed-dating contest. Drake picked Pinkchyu as his “wife,” Jordyn Lucas as his “bestie” and Lena the Plug as his “hookup,” with reported rewards including a $400,000 house for Pinkchyu’s mother, $25,000 and a Hermès bag for Jordyn, and $25,000 plus a New Zealand trip for Lena. The OF-heavy lineup, including Lily Phillips, Amber Rodriguez, Chloe Yummy, Dank Demoss, Sofia Muja and Paris Richards, fueled criticism that the event felt transactional and exploitative. The biggest viral moment came when Pinkchyu told Drake to bark and he responded with several “arf arf” sounds before she said “Good boy,” generating tens of millions of views, Kendrick “Not Like Us” edits and “Drake folded for the goth baddie” memes. Drake later joked about retracting his previous advice to IShowSpeed not to bark for women, while Pinkchyu’s “goth baddie” status revived Drake’s 2025 comment about his supposed destiny being a goth baddie. Lena removing her wedding ring and giving Drake a “hall pass” from husband Adam22 sparked jokes, while Drake’s awkward banter and forced reactions became additional memes. He also tried to inject rap-beef drama, warning rivals that “the pen isn’t dry,” joking about Roc Nation subpoenas and saying next year’s event could be on a yacht “even though I hate boats,” which Akademiks interpreted as a Lil Yachty subliminal despite Drake denying it. Fans linked the Roc Nation remark to his UMG lawsuit, Kendrick’s Super Bowl performance and unproven conspiracy theories. Supporters called it masterful trolling, while critics including Vulture and Wayno called it corny, desperate and a midlife crisis.
