But we also hold space for the truth: freedom is still not fully realized. From Gaza to the ICE detention centers to land defenders across the globe, colonization and oppression persist in new forms.

Honored to be in community with passionate educators at #DeeperLearning2025 this week, diving deep into Decolonizing Curriculum through Place-Based Learning. The beautiful, sacred, resilient #ChicanoPark was our place this week, and we are so grateful ☺️

Together, we began rethinking whose knowledge matters, uncovering community assets, and centering student inquiry in the stories of place. 🌱✊🏾

Education isn’t just about content—it’s about connection. Grateful for the voices, perspectives, and energy in this space! 🔥💡

We honored the land
We acknowledged the labor
And we explored the community and gave thanks in gifts of seeds, money, and gratitude.
