This is as close to an artist’s statement as I could muster for my “show.” LoFi. Honest. Real. It’s less of a soapbox manifesto and more of a personal mantra that I aspire to. One day at a time. taken in Annie's Art and Frame by @idrew

I finally reached my goal to finish this last painting before I hang my show on Wednesday. It was a struggle, but I'm calling it "finished" and have to be at peace with it. by @idrew

A few weeks ago I took a poll: stick with the (purple) underpainting palette, or finish it to the truer greens IRL. The people spoke, 68% said stick with the purple. At that point, the paint had been applied more thin than I liked, so I finally got around to finishing it. Let’s see if anyone wants to buy it! It’ll be part of the show I’m hanging in a few days, and on full display this coming Saturday, May 9, at @anniesartandframe from 6-9 pm. Pop by, say hi and check it out.

Excited to share my latest painting for my flora series. Yes, as many of you have noticed, these have a strong Georgia O'Keeffe vibe. I didn't set out to mimic her paintings, but I've always been a big fan, and it clearly shows. I'll be showing this series at @anniesartandframe at #ballardartwalk on May 9th from 6–9pm. Pop by and check em out in person! #flowerpainting #rosepainting #acrylicpainting taken in Annie's Art and Frame by @idrew

Medellín, 2023. I was at the Botanical Gardens, completely overwhelmed in the best way — so much color and life everywhere I looked. But this plant is the one that got me.
Green on one side, purple on the other. Then the sun hit it and it turned gold. I had to paint it…and it has continued to inspire me to paint more flora. This will be one of the paintings that I’ll be sharing next month at @anniesartandframe for Second Saturday Ballard Artwalk on May 9th.
