Flame, stone and flower: Lucie Rose Galvani painting the cover art for our song ‘Dieus Sal la Terra’.

@lucie_rose_art works on paper with handmade paints, natural medieval pigments, and miniature painting techniques. The fire is built from cinnabar and orpiment - mineral pigments as luminous as they are toxic. The rock is layered with ochres, green earth and slate.

For the flower, we took inspiration from Saxifraga × conradiae - a rare, little-documented Corsican hybrid, naturally occurring through a meeting of island and mainland. It felt like a fitting image for a Corsican song sung in medieval Occitan.

What do the flame, rock and flower symbolise to you?

Isadora sings ‘Fargisn Blut’ live @unionchapeluk.

A Tkhine is a Yiddish devotional prayer, typically written and sung by women, making them unique in a world where Hebrew prayer and study were historically heavily male-dominated.

@rebbe_tzn wrote this tkhine using words from ‘A New Soul Remembrance Tkhine for the Martyrs of a Pogrom’, preserved in Shas Tkhine by Rav Peninim, for the album ‘Lider Mit Palestine’. The title of the song translates as ‘Spilled Blood’.
