There is something powerful about seeing your own world reflected on screen. In Trinidad and Tobago, bringing films home to the @ttfilmfestival means giving audiences the chance to see our landscapes, hear our voices, recognize our experiences and connect with the stories that are uniquely ours. It’s more than a film,it’s a mirror of who we are, where we come from and the culture we carry forward. 🇹🇹🦇

‘Spectral’ will screen in Port of Spain as part of the @ttfilmfestival

Screen Share presents Spectral, directed by Jason-Marc Mohamed, and screening on Sept. 13!

Deep in the untamed wilderness of Trinidad, evolutionary biologist Dr. Alexa Sadier is on the hunt for one of nature's most misunderstood creatures: bats.

Through dense forests, remote caves, and challenging terrain, she uncovers the extraordinary adaptations that let these mammals thrive — and the vital role they play in ecosystems and in our understanding of life itself.

Part adventure, part cutting-edge science, all set against stunning Caribbean landscapes. 🇹🇹

There are so many things I could say about this film. Creating and telling this story has been an unforgettable journey. A project like this is only possible through the dedication of a remarkable team, and I’m eternally grateful to everyone who helped bring it to life. This past year has taught me more than I ever expected. It pushed me to grow as a filmmaker and reshaped the way I think and create. It was a year full of laughter, unforgettable memories, and just as many moments of pure ‘blood, sweat, and tears ‘—all for the love of it. Grateful for everyone who was part of this journey. Here’s to carrying the lessons forward and creating even more. #wildlifefilmmaking #storyteller #shotonred #onlocation taken in Planet Earth by @iere_nation

‘ Peacefully Co-existing ‘ - I’m elated that my image was displayed at the International Union for Conservation of Nature - World Conservation Congress 2025 in United Arab Emirates (@iucn_congress ) At the congress, researchers presented the first-ever global assessment of mangrove ecosystems for the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems (@redlist_of_ecosystems ). Sadly, this revealed that nearly half (50%) of the world’s mangrove ecosystems are at risk of collapse. Current projections warn that by 2050, more than a quarter of these vital ecosystems could be entirely submerged. Despite this, global conservation efforts by the amazing folks at the @mangroveactionproject are gaining momentum to protect and restore these vital coastal forests . We all need play our part to safeguard and revive these natural protectors of our coasts. by @iere_nation
