Fourteen years ago, in 2012, BAHAGIA MENANTI was born during the production of Musikal Bawang Merah Bawang Putih, beautifully sung by Radhini. We took one of its musical numbers and developed it into a pop song, giving it a life beyond the story itself. The musical reinterpreted the beloved Indonesian folktale of Bawang Putih, a young girl whose kindness and pure heart endure through cruelty, greed, a little magic, and ultimately forgiveness. At its heart, it is a story about believing that a beautiful heart will find its way to happiness. Me and @tiarajosodirdjo produced the musical and the song, and back then I wished we could give it a proper music video. We simply didn’t have the luxury, so that dream had to wait. Fourteen years later, technology gave me the chance to revisit that unfinished dream and finally bring the vision in my head to life. That is how I see technology: not as the creator, but as a tool. The vision, emotion, taste, choices, and story still come from us. Technology simply helps us materialize what we imagine. Is it perfect? Of course not. But I’m proud of it, I loved making it, and it genuinely made me happy. Hopefully, some of that happiness finds its way to you too. So here it is, 14 years later. I hope Bahagia Menanti finds its second life and touches a few more hearts along the way. My heartfelt thank you to @tiarajosodirdjo for giving me the opportunity and trust to bring this dream to life, and to @ifa_fachir, @simhalaavadana, and @avachdinanti for creating, shaping, and giving this beautiful song its music and soul all those years ago. Here’s to second chances, old dreams, and new possibilities. BAHAGIA MENANTI Performed by @radhini_ Music & Lyrics: @ifa_fachir & @simhalaavadana Produced & Arranged: @ifa_fachir & @rishanda Orchestrations: @avachdinanti 2012 Original Stage Production Produced by @dedykoswara & @tiarajosodirdjo 2026 Music Video Adaptation Reimagined, Produced & Directed by @dekos…obviously by @ifa_fachir
