The grind never stops

.
.
When u go to Mtende beach u will see women with sticks and several coconuts remains and alot of rocks..
I would very often see the rocks but wouldnt know what they are for..
I found out that the rocks are covering coconuts which make them stay when the water comes…and they end up getting soaked after several days..the ladies comes and pick up the coconuts and make it into rope which is often used for rugs… called Kamba ya Katani
We had a moment to have a conversation with those ladies and learned how they do it which was so interesting..

It was an honor to be one of the 15 photographers selected and recognised by the President of Tanzania to showcase the tourism/culture of kizimkazi and zanzibar overall.
Special thanks to Allah for giving me this opportunity and my family for their continuous support throughout my journey i cant ever repay u for what u have done for me

Other special thanks to @wabagrouptz and the photographers team , mentor and curator.. @that_tanzanianguy @baraka_leo8 i truly learned alot… and i hope this isn’t the end..

I learned alot those three days spent just for taking photos.. i found my passion in photography again and learned proper story telling which i hope u will be seeing on my photography going forward

It was amazing to have one of my photos auctioned. The best feeling was having several people relate to the photo indicating hardwork and resilience 🥺

When the ocean calls, there is no turning back
.
One early morning in paje.. we went to watch the sunrise and
At some point there was a group of women heading to the ocean and i went to them and started having conversations with them..
They said that they were going fishing mostly for octopus thats why they had the sticks and other fishes too…
They invited us to go with them😅😭 they were so nice and friendly..

Hardworking women waking up before sunrise to head out fishing in a small boat in Paje really caught my attention. At some point, I had always assumed that fishing was mostly a man’s world. Seeing these women out on the water, working just as hard, was a beautiful reminder that the sea belongs to everyone. 🌊🎣

The art of noticing

One of the photos I captured during the photography bootcamp for the @wabagrouptz.. it’s so crazy that those three days were dedicated to just taking photos and connecting to other super talented photographers and mentors… such an eye opening experience.. had to capture storytelling photos and when i tell u my entire perspective changed after this🙂😊this is one of the many of my favourite photos taken on this trip.

It’s so crazy how life works…
📈📉
One moment ur happy one moment ur sad
One moment ur exactly where u want to be the next moment u arent
One moment ur content the next moment u arent anymore
One moment ur disciplined the next ur not..
.
Kind of makes u pause and think…
Not being able to tell where u stand at any moment…
But that’s how life is..

It’s filled with ups and downs…
All u can do is appreciate the good times when they come and be patient during the not so good ones..
