Thought I'd spice up the transitions for the authors interview for #londonbigread with some tips from @petermckinnon. Was well received by clients and will definitely use more of his tutorials.londonunderground #thebigread #london #read #books #literacy #femaleauthours #authorsofinstagram by @ifeproductions_

Kind of feel like the in house videographer for @librarylondon as I've more or less been covering all their major events over the last year or so. Was called literally last minute to put this piece together on Valentines day 😗😑 so experimented with some colour tones and romantic subject matter... .

Just saw this... sometimes I loath the sponsord ads that come up but @officialspikelee is someone I have dreamed of learning from - so if for now it's this virtual course - it's got to be my next investment! #blackdirectors #blackfilmakers #blackfilmmaker #filmdirector #filmdirectors #independentfilm #spikelee #spikeleejoint #londonfilmmaker #londonvideographer #londoncinematographer #dream #vision #plan #reality #success #failure #keepgoing by @ifeproductions_

So it takes a lot to get me excited about the current representation of Black film and media and that's not to say that of recent time we haven't seen a shift in innovation and renaissance era content from @jordanpeele GET OUT to @origi_nate THD BIRTH OF A NATION but what is really exciting me right now is Netflix announcement that they have greenlit SEE YOU YESTERDAY which is an upcoming sci-fi drama film based on the 2017 short film of the same name.

It come from thr directorial debut of @officialspikelee protege @stefonbristol who also helmed the short film.

Relative newcomers Eden Duncan-Smith and Danté Crichlow reprise their roles from the short film in a feature film scripted by Bristol and Fredrica Bailey.

The film revolves around “two Brooklyn teenage science prodigies, Claudette “C.J.” Walker (Duncan-Smith) and Sebastian J. Thomas (Crichlow), who build make-shift time machines to save C.J.’s brother, Calvin, from being wrongfully killed by a police officer.” Co-stars include Astro Bradley, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Wavvy Jones.

The original short was an HBO Short Film competition finalist at the American Black Film Festival.

I would be superised to predict that this wouldn't be a cult classic and had the making of deep examination and the occasional binge watch.

So where do I start. First of of all big congrats goes out to @davidajala for securing this role... I met him first whilst interviewing for the Black Cultural Archive #weareone campaign and he came across as friendly and humble... then I saw him at church the next week with his family and he became more endering to me. I'm seeing a wave of new black cinema with adventurous attempts at rediscovering a new reality where male and female black people aren't just first mates of the starship enterprise but sometimes even captaining the ship. For me it's great to see the diversity in cast and how this is expressed through the lense but all to often I must say that I don't see too much of our humanity reflected by way of creating realities where we are not simply slotted into the paradigm but moreover shape it by way of our futuristic cultural experiences and unique attributes. Anyway I'm a long way off creating my black Sci Fi but when I do I hope to reimagine the future through a darker lense. #nightflyers #netflix #blackscifi #blackcinema #blackactor #blackmovie #ukactor #scifi #bingwatch #afrotech by @ifeproductions_
