𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐈𝐅𝐌 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚 ✨

We’ve always believed—
IFM was never meant to be the biggest,
but to do meaningful work with people with true alignment.

Meaningful for our clients,
Meaningful for our team.
And meaningful for the community we’re part of.

What moved me most is that night was seeing the journeys of families we’ve walked alongside—
each comes to Canada with different hopes,
and step by step, building stable lives, careers, and futures for the next generation.

Choosing to plan ahead,
Choosing to learn proactively,
Choosing to think beyond oneself.

That, in itself, is a quiet yet powerful form of love.

Thank you for all the trust and for walking this path with us In the year ahead, we’ll continue together to go further on the things that truly matter. ❤️ taken in Vancouver, B.C., Canada by @ifm_canada

The best planning happens when the right expertise comes together 🤝

Behind every thoughtful strategy is a team of professionals bringing different perspectives to the same table.

But for us, it goes deeper than expertise.

When a client trusts us with their finances, they’re trusting us with the decisions that shape their family, their future, and everything they’ve worked hard to build. We never take that responsibility lightly.

It’s why we continue to learn, ask better questions, and build longstanding relationships with professionals like our CPA partners at MNP.

All to ensure every client feels surrounded by the depth of expertise and care they deserve ✨ taken in MNP by @ifm_canada

Each week, we continue to learn alongside our CPA team, investment management teams from leading financial institutions, and legal structuring professionals examining policy developments, tax changes, and increasingly complex wealth planning structures.

The more deeply we work in this field, the more we recognize that effective planning cannot exist within a single discipline. Tax, legal, investment, risk management, business, and estate considerations must be viewed together, with each decision assessed not only for its immediate impact, but also for the consequences it may create years or even generations from now.

The ability to bring multiple professionals to the same table, align their perspectives, and build one coordinated strategy is at the heart of thoughtful family-office planning.

Our clients entrust us with some of the most important decisions of their lives. Continuing to deepen our knowledge is not an added advantage,it is a fundamental responsibility.

True professionalism is not about relying on yesterday’s answers. It is about continually developing better judgment for the decisions our clients must make today. by @ifm_canada

Thank you Desjardins for the invitation to an evening dedicated to cross-border wealth planning for ultra-high-net-worth families.

As the youngest of the six invited planners, I was honored to learn alongside professionals who have spent decades shaping this field. Around the table were second-generation family office advisors carrying forward their families’ legacy, as well as experts with nearly 40 years of experience in cross-border tax and wealth planning.

Our discussions centered on a challenge that is becoming increasingly common: how to help families with multiple citizenships, multiple jurisdictions, and increasingly diverse family structures build long-term wealth strategies—so that cross-border identities become an advantage rather than a future burden.

I also had the opportunity to share our team’s AI-powered planning system currently in beta, which models future tax scenarios, analyzes asset structures, and identifies potential planning risks. Hearing experienced professionals repeatedly say, “Amazing,” reinforced my belief that technology is not here to replace expertise—it is here to help professionals deliver advice that is more precise, comprehensive, and forward-looking.

Perhaps the biggest takeaway from the evening was watching Tony effortlessly discuss the latest tax developments across Canada, the U.S., China, and Hong Kong after decades in the profession. What impressed me most wasn’t simply his experience, but his continued curiosity and commitment to learning.

The best planning comes from continuously expanding perspectives, integrating expertise across disciplines, and finding the right solution for every family’s unique situation. Grateful to be on this journey of lifelong learning. taken in Quan Ju De 全聚德 Vancouver by @ifm_canada

I used to think financial freedom meant choosing between security and experiences.

Between protecting my family’s future and enjoying today.

Like it had to be one or the other.

When financial planning is done correctly, it allows you to have both.

These are the seven principles I follow personally and teach every client who wants to stop guessing and start achieving their financial freedom.

1. Optimize Taxes First (Most Important)

Stop paying more tax than you need to. Tax drag is the number 1 wealth killer. Tax efficiency is one of the easiest ways to improve your financial future because it doesn’t require taking on more risk.

2. Every Dollar should serve a Purpose

Your emergency fund, retirement savings, investments, and insurance all serve different roles. Once you know what each bucket is meant for, money starts to feel a lot less overwhelming.

3. Know What Resources are Available to You

Canada has some incredible financial planning tools that most people never use. Not because they’re hidden, but because no one ever explains them properly.

4. Maximize All Tax-Sheltered Accounts in All Channels.

One of the biggest advantages you have is using the right accounts and strategies for your situation. It’s not just about growing your money. Tax sheltering is your biggest lever.

5. Enjoy Your Life Today

Planning for the future is important, but tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. Every financial plan I build includes room for travel, experiences, and quality time with my daughters. You work to live, not the other way around.

6. Know Your Numbers

When you understand where your money is going and what your financial picture actually looks like, the fear starts to disappear. Clarity destroys fear.

7. Build a Strategy, Not Just a Plan

Anyone can put together a plan.

A real strategy connects your taxes, investments, protection, and long-term goals so they all work together.

Financial freedom isn’t about choosing between today and tomorrow.

It’s about building a strategy where you can protect your future while enjoying the present.

Deeply honored to be back at the Vancouver Financial Planning Summit.

This is an exclusive, invitation-only gathering of the industry’s top experts, and being among this elite circle is a reminder of why we must study the ”game“ so deeply. To navigate the Canadian tax landscape, we need more than just a map; we need a master strategy. 🎯

Many families and business owners make blind moves, feeling suffocated by the “land of taxes”. But there is a way through.

Tax planning isn’t just about the bill—it’s about the “Right time“ and the “right way.“ It’s a custom, long-term journey and a two-way partnership between your vision and my expertise.

Being in a room with this level of alignment is inspiring. Let‘s turn tax complexity into a clear, protected legacy. 💼✨

Making money and building wealth are fundamentally different disciplines. They require distinct mindsets, skill sets, and long-term strategies. Many individuals become proficient at earning income, but far fewer successfully transition to building and sustaining wealth. Without true wealth, long-term freedom remains limited.

Wealth preservation is rarely the result of one individual’s effort. It is built through coordinated family stewardship, guided by shared values and informed decision-making.

It is the outcome of multiple generations working in alignment, learning, adapting, and evolving together over time.

Legacy, therefore, is not an outcome left to chance. It is a collective responsibility one that calls on each generation to act with clarity, accountability, and purpose. taken in MNP by @ifm_canada
