IFTA 2026 counts work that aired between 1 April 2025 and 31 March 2026, with a minimum of 8 weeks on air inside that window.

That's it. That's the whole rule. Same window for Television, Bollywood and OTT — no vertical gets its own calendar, and no name gets an exception in either direction.

Why April to March, and why now.

A show that launched in January 2026 has been on your screen for seven months. Telling you it "doesn't count" while asking you to vote in August 2026 would be an award that stopped watching television eight months before you did. Long-running Hindi serials don't fit a tidy calendar year, so we stopped pretending they do.

April to March is the Indian financial year. It's a window nobody had to invent, and it makes next year automatic: IFTA 2027 will cover 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.

What it changes.

Some shows you named are now in. Some you named are still out — including two of the most-mentioned names in our comments, because they simply haven't aired long enough yet. The rule doesn't bend for volume. That's the point of having one.

If a show missed it by weeks, it isn't lost. It's early.

What it doesn't change.

No jury. No award fixing. One person, one vote, OTP verified. Nothing has been decided yet — the Final Nominee List comes after suggestions close, and voting opens Tuesday, 1st September at PolBol.in
