When we were discussing our Darjeeling itinerary, she suggested, “Let’s go to Dawaipani.” I heard the name for the first time and honestly had no idea what to expect.

But those two days there turned out to be one of the most beautiful parts of the trip. It was complete stillness the kind where you finally get the space to slow down, introspect, and find yourself again.

There was something so comforting about everything around us. The home cooked food at the homestay, the warmth of the hosts we met, the quiet surroundings, and the simplicity of life there. There was absolutely no rush to be anywhere or to tick places off a list.

We could read, talk, laugh, eat, sit around, and simply spend time together. And somehow, even doing nothing felt like doing enough.

It was that kind of place where you realise you don’t always have to show up somewhere, achieve something, or keep moving. Sometimes, it’s perfectly okay to just be.

For the decorations, the excitement, the little preparations, and most importantly, for Bappa to come home. 🥹❤️

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi ♥️❤️

From childhood, one of my earliest memories of Bappa takes me back to Surat. There was an aarti happening in our colony, and I still don’t know what it was, but something some invisible binding force just drew me towards Him.

And maybe that is why Bappa’s arrival makes me immensely happy even today. Somewhere between that little girl in Surat and the person I am today, this bond has only grown deeper. So much has changed in these 30 years, but this one feeling has remained exactly the same that no matter where life takes me, Gannu is there, quietly looking out for me.

Every year, when He comes home, it feels like I get my forever friend back. And that feeling is priceless. 💓 by @igargidatta
