Beloved Venezuelan Philly community member, caregiver of 4 children, and friend, “Pilo” Mairiyis Tania Cedeno, was disappeared by ice from the courthouse.

After fleeing Venezuela in search of safety, Pilo followed the legal immigration process, built a life here in the Philadelphia burbs, and believed that complying with every government requirement would protect her. She became a legal resident. Then in October 2025 Trump ended the Temporary Protected Status for Venezuelans.

Then she was summoned to a scheduled appointment at the Newark Asylum Office on July 9.

She was detained by ICE, handcuffed, and driven away in an unmarked vehicle.

We are trying to get her story seen, and raising funds to support her husband, who has also been summoned to a future immigration appointment in the following weeks. No one is illegal on stolen land. Please contribute via Venmo to @ allisonjoyjones

I’m posting this for @freeralphstokes — Ralph Trent Stokes. I’ve been working with Trent since 2017. Arrested at 19 in 1982, he has spent more than 44 years in prison fighting to prove his innocence. His prosecutor was Roger King, one of the names below.

Without Krasner and his office’s willingness to revisit wrongful convictions, Trent is unlikely to have a meaningful chance of justice. That’s why he’s asking us to support these reforms. Please attend if you can, and share this so others can show up for Trent and the people still waiting to come home.

A MESSAGE FROM PHILADELPHIA PRISONERS: HELP US FIGHT FOR TRUE JUSTICE

We need the public to stand with us and support District Attorney Larry Krasner’s criminal justice reforms.

For decades, Philadelphia’s justice system was defined by the harsh, unchecked practices of former prosecutors like Ed Rendell, Ronald Castille, Lynne Abraham, Seth Williams, Barbara Christie, Roger King, and George Shotzberger. Under their tenure, tens of thousands of Philadelphians were subjected to unethical prosecutions, unyielding conviction tactics, and systemic unfairness. Innocent people were buried in prison for decades—10, 20, 30, even 50 years—with meaningful appeals routinely denied by a court system unwilling to challenge the District Attorney’s office.

Under Larry Krasner, the Post Conviction Relief Act (PCRA) process has finally given incarcerated men and women a fair chance to present their cases, expose past misconduct, and seek real justice. Now, those who want to return to the old ways are launching massive campaigns to undermine these vital reforms.

We cannot let the system go backward. Stand with our families and loved ones to defend fairness, accountability, and reform.

This night is about raising urgent funds, but it’s also about building something longer-lasting: a local network of people willing to stand beside these families month after month.

Included with ticket prices there will be mezze, beer, art, music, and a raffle of restaurants, tattoos, records, artwork, books, acupuncture and more. But most importantly there will be short films and videos by the families introducing themselves to you. And explaining the need for more support.
