What a day!
We played our first big concert with our kids, and it was a blast! Shall we rename our band to IEZIE now? 😁
Це був дуже яскравий день. Ми зіграли перший великий концерт разом з нашими дітьми. Може треба тепер перейменовуватись у IEZIE Band?

We still sometimes perform for a Ukrainian community in Washington, and here we were learning a new song in Ukrainian. It causes lots of nostalgia for Ukrainians over 30 :) by @igorzavalnyi

Running sound for an acoustic worship set this morning. I could have used a small analogue mixer given the channel count, but that’s not my style. I love being able to produce a very polished mix where nothing sticks out, stays under control and I can take out the best out of the singers and musicians. People use this console for stadium gigs and large setups, I use it for everything I can 😂

I am a musician first, but I’ve been serving more and more as a soundguy lately. Some say my mixes sound not too bad ;)
But what I’ve been trying to do aside from producing great sound is to be a happy soundguy that doesn’t kill the mood in the room as soon as they start working with the artist. I know, a lot of musicians have trauma from their past experiences with too many grumpy sound engineers. I even cheer for artists from behind the mixer like in the picture taken by @moodvick at the latest Koliada event by @toloka_wa.
Do you think sound guys are good folks or lame? 😂 taken in Issaquah, Washington by @igorzavalnyi

This was pre-service rehearsal for the last service of @theimagechurch at our (hopefully) last rented space. A new chapter, challenging and exciting, begins for the community that I’ve become a part of and have grown fond of. It’s made of people who love God and follow Him honestly and sincerely.
As I have the privilege of running the audio for the church, I was mixing the service as usual. And this particular song in the particular arrangement just touched my soul. Not only because my wife @iva_zavalna was leading it. The whole band were just like one piece, all contributing but not dancing on each other’s toes (musically of course).
We’re going to be without our huge line arrays and 6 double subs for a while but I’m excited about how we’ll grow into something better however not necessarily bigger. #soundengineer #behringerwing #jblvertec taken in The Image Church by @igorzavalnyi

I’ve been providing sound equipment and running sound for events again lately. Some hobbies just stick with you.
Had a great pleasure of supporting a fundraiser tonight that local Young Life branch held to raise funds for an incredible minister in the area.
@brendanabernathy did an incredible performance with his music, great playing and awesome skills of engaging with the audience. I enjoyed it a lot.

Waiting for a perfect opportunity we often postpone important things and don't do anything in the end. Have you had this issue? We wanted to break out of this vicious circle. So here's our cover of a song, maybe not perfect but created in the moment on our porch with the birds on the backing vocals😅 🐦‍⬛

By the way, this was recording in one take, not the first one though 🎙️🎚️ taken in Lynnwood, Washington by @igorzavalnyi
