Creativity is one of our six foundational pillars at Island Girls Rock, alongside wellness, sustainability, leadership, community service, and joy. We show up for our community year-round, connecting local talent to regional and global opportunities. ๐Ž๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐š๐œ๐ญ ๐ข๐ง ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง: Global & Regional Partnerships: We have partnered with the @claralionelfdn for the Rooted Podcast, served as lead media partner for the Cross Continental Film Forum 2024, and secured @caribbeandevelopmentbank (CIIF) funding to send youth reps to CARIFESTA XV. ๐€๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ: In 2024 we delivered a 3-month artist program funded by @cwfcreatives . Earlier this year, through a programme coordinated by the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society, five of our community members were selected for a week of hands-on pottery immersion in Barbados with Master Potter Ronaldo Wiltshire. That same commitment continues right now with our ๐’๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ž๐ซ ๐‚๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐’๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ฌ: Digital Storytelling: Held last month at @goldenrockinn and facilitated by Digital Creator @everytingsimsimma Legally Literate Women: Happening this Saturday at @fsnevis covering IP, invoicing, and contracts so artists can navigate the business side of their craft. Mixed Media Collage: Thursday, July 30th with artist and art professor Taquetta Lawrence. ๐€๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ฉ๐ฌ: Final two sessions at Queen City Bar & Restaurant, with details and registration info coming very very soon! My heart is sooooo full. Yesterday I facilitated the first Island Girls Rock workshop which kicked of this summerโ€™s creative series! I was able to share space with 10 amazing young girls and women from St. Kitts and Nevis thanks to the generosity of @goldenrockinn. Thank you for hosting us and providing such warm hospitality. Your dedication and commitment to showing up for our community is truly appreciated. Thank you to the attendees for allowing me to share the bits that I know with you. Today we are celebrating @tina.illustrates.art , a wonderful member of our community who constantly embraces new experiences. Tina has been with us for four years now (we can't believe it! ) and during her time with us, she has successfully completed our three-month Artist Development Program held in 2024, traveled to Barbados to complete a pottery intensive and consistently challenges herself to explore new ways of creative expression. As a member of our archery club and our artistic programs, Tina continues to show a beautiful openness to growth, and we love watching her bloom. We are halfway through 2026, and our hearts are full of gratitude. A few weeks ago, four members of the Island Girls Rock community returned home from Barbados, where they completed the final week of a three-week pottery intensive led by master ceramicist @motionsofclay This programme was facilitated by the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society (NHCS) and began right here in Nevis with a wider cohort of local participants. Out of that entire group, four IGR members were selected to travel to Barbados for the final stage. This opportunity means so much because pottery is deeply rooted in Nevisian culture, especially through the legacy of the Newcastle Pottery Cooperative. Participating in this intensive helps to carry local craft traditions forward into the future. For Island Girls Rock, being part of this initiative shows the real impact of supporting and championing girls and women. @tina.illustrates.art @jevysa_ @softlysidra and @onlyher_nessa we are so incredibly proud of you. Vanel Bailey has just been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society whilst at the same time, Brianneฬ Chapman has been named Employee of the Month at Four Seasons Resort Nevis. This summer, we are bringing colour and sustainability to businesses across Nevis. Inspired by our Adopt-a-Coastline programme, the Island Girls Rock team is turning old, discarded tyres into beautiful, functional, hand-painted bins. This project brings our core pillars of community service and sustainability to life. Our resident artists will transform tyres into a custom piece of art for your space. We can freestyle a beautiful theme, or we can weave in your business logo and brand colours. Want a custom tyre bin for your business?
