Innovations High School students were proud participants in “Alternative Education: Beyond the Label,” the student-led Chicago Board of Education Presidential Candidate Forum at the Harold Washington Cultural Center.

Presented by Youth Connection Charter School and led by YCCS Generation Now Civic Ambassadors, this nonpartisan event brought student voices into conversations about education, opportunity, and the future of Chicago’s schools.

At IHS, learning extends beyond the classroom. Experiences like this encourage our scholars to stay informed, engage with their communities, and recognize the power of their voices.

Their perspectives matter—and they deserve to be heard!
