mera gaon

recently went to a very burgerish village of my friend. they asked me if i can walk on their lanes. really wanted to show them apna gaon. also this made me post some chunks.

slide 1 is my mother watching our fields from our dera. chachu recently took the decision to chop off our guava orchard. slide 2 is amma, bhai and adam visiting mom’s grave. it is our ritual to visit deceased in muharram to match the pain of maula. it is basically to resonate. slide 3 is meeting our elders who live back in village. we rarely visit village these day. 4 is par nano ka sehan. slide 5-6 is me romanticising donkeys. slide 7 shows the name plate of my paternal house. it is weird how we have to move on from our identities at one point. these are places that still keep calling us back. maybe the ache to see this house empty despite all the trauma i’ve suffered here is what makes me so sticked to it. may we never have to leave our houses behind. may houses always be home. may homes always be kind. slide 8 is mama sitting with her mamus. this is the house of my par nano. may we always recognise homes by women’s name. slide 9 captures the beauty of sunset, alampak and birds. slide 10 is my family visiting papa (my nana). he passed away in 2024. slide 11 shows the engineers of my village lol. slide 12 is the wall between my paternal home and my grandfather’s brother house. slide 13 is deraa. slide 14 is all of us sitting together like this after ages. slide 15 is our gaon ki masjid. slide 16 is obvious. slide 17 is mama is her village streets. 18 is time to head back home. 19 show my par nano’s home orchard. 🤍 by @ikh14ss
