Very very happy to share this 25th Street version of Overturned, my collaboration with @elenasheltonmusic (aka @elenaaliceshelton ). It was glorious to blend voices with @_tauwoo and Elena in this live-in-the-studio version of the song. Special shoutout to @jeffkolhede for mixing (and engineering) this one.

Our 25th Street Session in-studio performance video of “Sublimate” is out today on YouTube. This song helped me to process a lot of seemingly un-process-able feelings I was having back in 2017 when I wrote it. Now, it acts as a cathartic release for those feelings. This version of the tune is brilliantly brought to life by my incredible collaborators (@antromalexander @_tauwoo @patrickaguirre_ @kvnmccann and featuring @strngs on violin).

Incredibly excited to say that the full video of “Constellation (25th Street Session)” is up on YouTube! ✨✨✨

Constellation was the very first song I ever released under the name Waterstrider (shoutout to my dear friend @alexsiegelmusic who co-created that original recording with me, as well as incredible playing from Brijean Murphy, Sean Suess, and Clayton Ernst). We didn’t know at the time that the song would find its way across the blogosphere and have a life of its own. And I’m so grateful that it did! However, as much as I love that original recording, it felt like the right time to make an updated version of the song that represents where this musical project has arrived at the moment. Life isn’t static, and I feel that songs are also living creatures of sorts, and as such they deserve the chance to grow and change and take on different forms.

So I hope you enjoy this new, jammy version of this tune, crafted excellently by the incredible musicians I get to call collaborators and friends 🥹🫶🤘💖

We really dug deep on this one, channeling some anger and frustration with the state of the world into some heavy sputtering grooves. This release (and the coming record and film) is a huge labor of love from me and the crew and I can’t wait to share the full result of everyone’s hard work with you all. For now, I hope you enjoy this first song as an appetizer of what’s to come.
