There are friends

And in life there are friends, friends like ants, friends who have been allowed everything and who have turned out to be among our enemies, friends who deny and slander you, friends you have blessed and who have cursed you, banished you, friends of our fears and pains; friends during the days of happiness and who run away during the days of misfortune, the friends of our mistakes; the friends of our crying so many cheaters in the rearview mirror, it takes a certain greatness;

A certain height, you need from the heart these friends in presence and enemies in the absence

But there is also a childhood friend who is lucky

Day 01 with Pak Ndjamena and the energy was electric.

This wasn’t about choreography. It was about tapping into something deeper, letting go, and meeting each other at the same frequency.

Pak challenged the dancers to move from instinct, trust the moment, and bring their full selves into the room. By the end, everyone was completely spent.

A powerful start to the week.

Siku ya 01 na Pak Ndjamena na energy ilikuwa ya umeme kabisa.

Hii haikuwa kuhusu choreography. Ilikuwa kuhusu kuachia, kuaminiana, na kukutana kwenye frequency moja.

Pak aliwasukuma dancers kuamini hisia zao, kuwa present, na kuleta nafsi yao yote ndani ya room. Kufikia mwisho wa session, kila mtu alikuwa amechoka kabisa.

Mwanzo mzuri sana wa wiki.

IKRAM MUMBA
Ikram Mumba is a Tanzanian dancer trained at MUDA Africa, specializing in contemporary and
traditional dance. He has worked with Tanzanians and international choreographers, and
performed in festivals across Kenya, Rwanda, DR Congo, and Tanzania. He is also a
co-founder of African Roots Dance Company. He joins The House of Wondar as a company
dancer.

We were deeply moved by @ikrammumba , whose performance brought to life the silent suffering of our environment. Every movement told a powerful story of how human activities continue to harm our planet — and why urgent action is needed now.

The performance, titled “If the Earth Could Speak,” was inspired by Michael Jackson’s “Earth Song” and powerfully reflected environmental damage, human responsibility, and the Earth’s cry for care and justice.
