The older we get, the more we realize that relationships aren't usually broken by the big moments everyone talks about. More often than not, it's the little habits, and the everyday choices we make.

These are just a few things we've thought about over the years that genuinely don't make much sense to us. Either way, we had fun putting our thoughts into words. by @ikwuje_blessing

Everyone is talking about the "Olodo Uprising." The truth is, it takes intentionality not to become an "olodo." Nobody wakes up one morning and decides to stop thinking. It happens gradually.

Being an "olodo" isn't about your grades. It isn't about whether you went to university. And it definitely isn't about how much money you have.
So irrespective of your position or degree, it's worth paying attention to.

I think everyone deserves to experience being seen. Not just looked at. Not just noticed when you're useful, pretty, successful, funny, or easy to love. But seen in the small things. In the way you go quiet when you are overwhelmed. In the way you pretend to be okay before finally admitting you are tired.

Love is also “I notice you.” “I understand you.” “I see the parts of you other people overlook.” To be seen is to be held with value. And that is why it feels so much like love. by @ikwuje_blessing

I think we underestimate the power of relationships. One wrong relationship can affect the way you think, the way you see yourself, and even the way you love. Which is why you have to be careful about who you allow close to you.

Who you choose to love will either water you or drain you. It will either strengthen your growth or slowly erase it. by @ikwuje_blessing

A very underrated blessing is the gift of finding a community in a church - a place where you are not just growing spiritually, but surrounded by people who feel like family. If you have it, cherish it deeply. And if you don’t, I hope you find it, a place where your faith can grow and you can truly belong. by @ikwuje_blessing

Everyone wants the big wins, but only a few people have the art of not postponing joy until they get those wins.

You can enjoy your one room in Sango, and still plan to buy land in Epe - contentment doesn't cancel ambition. The goal is - your happiness shouldn't be held hostage by your plans. Plans can delay, life shouldn't. by @ikwuje_blessing

Not every letter is written to be read today. Some are written for a future we are still preparing for, and this is one of those. We understand that parenting does not start when children arrive, it starts with intentionality.

And we hope that one day our children will read this, and realise that long before they had a voice, they were already being provided for, in thought, in prayer, in intention.

Until then, these letters will hold our hearts. by @ikwuje_blessing

Do you really live in Nigeria as a woman if you haven’t experienced any of these? Living here as a woman comes with an unspoken awareness. You just know things without being taught. You know when to ignore something that deserves a response, when to respond carefully so it doesn’t escalate, when to walk faster without making it obvious.

And the wild part is - it doesn’t even feel strange anymore. It has been experienced so often that it starts to feel normal, like it’s just part of how life is supposed to be. But when you really think about it, no one should have to live like this.

So be honest… which of these have you experienced? by @ikwuje_blessing

There are things you learned at home that felt normal because you saw them every day. But not everything that was normalized was healthy. And there comes a point where “that’s how I grew up” is no longer enough. Because while you didn’t choose what you were exposed to, you are responsible for what you continue.

Unlearning these patterns can be uncomfortable, but it is necessary to avoid passing on normalized trauma to the next generation.

Creating this with @kammys_thoughts was such a thoughtful process. A lot of these points came from real experiences, and I hope it leaves you with the need to "unlearn patterns that were often overlooked and excused." by @ikwuje_blessing

For us, writing sometimes comes from gisting 😂 and that’s what we decided to present to you all. This is what we both love about Yoruba weddings. Blessing isn’t Yoruba but has attended a lot of Yoruba weddings and honestly… she might as well be an honorary Yoruba bride at this point @ikwuje_blessing
Yoruba traditional weddings are not just ceremonies they are experiences filled with culture, laughter, family, and pure joy. From the way everyone has a role to play, to the unforgettable aso-ebi moments, the energy of live music, and the rich meanings behind every tradition… it’s hard not to fall in love with it all.

And let’s not even start on the food, the alagas that will hype you into spending money you didn’t plan for 😂, and the souvenirs that make sure you go home with a piece of the celebration.

At the end of the day, it’s not just about a couple coming together it’s about families, community, culture, and love being celebrated in the loudest and most beautiful way possible.

Now be honest… what’s YOUR favorite part of a Yoruba traditional wedding?

Most people think a relationship is only “break-up worthy” when there’s cheating, abuse, or some big betrayal. That’s what society has trained us to see as the only valid reason to walk away.

But red flags aren’t always loud. Sometimes, they appear in the little things you keep forgiving until they quietly destroy you. You don’t need someone to “cheat” or “hit” you for you to realize that it isn’t healthy. by @ikwuje_blessing
