When I began my journey in marketing and communications, my curiosity was simple: how do you turn a brand into a living, breathing story that people believe in? That question became the foundation of my career, one that has seen strategies evolve into stories, and stories transform into sustainable growth. Recently, that journey was recognised by the good people at @marketingedgem, naming me the Outstanding Marketing & Communications Professional of the Year. I’m not one for being obsessed with awards, but when they come, they serve as indicators. This particularly feels like a signal that passion, consistency, and clarity of purpose are never wasted. Coincidentally, this month also marks five incredible years of building at @capitalsageholdings (@johnventsgroup, @kolomoni_, @ercas_hq, @johnventsfoods). I dedicate this recognition to the man who has provided the vision, we all run with the Founder and Group Managing Director, @johnalamu, (who also won the Business Conglomerate Leadership Award), and to my remarkable team who’ve been in this with me every step of the way. #Latepost #Longpostalert: My birthday was in March. March 8 to be precise. And honestly… I still do not fully have the words for what happened. What I thought would be a normal day became one of the most intentional displays of love I have ever experienced. My team members came together with my wife and my boss to plan a surprise I never saw coming. Not just a dinner. Not just a cake. They brought together pieces of my life that matter deeply to me. My parents. My siblings. Friends who flew in from Abuja. My campus pastor, who is in fact my personal person. My colleagues. My Bosses I deeply respect. The people I work with daily. People who have seen my journey from different seasons of life. Seeing everyone in one room reminded me of something powerful: Life becomes lighter when you are surrounded by good people. People who celebrate you loudly. People who pray for you privately. People who show up without needing a reason. People who make your family feel like their own family. That birthday moment reminded me that I have been blessed with exactly that. I looked around the room and saw family, friendship, leadership, mentorship, loyalty, brotherhood, and love all sitting together in one place. My wife - you are the one I was destined to be with, the best decision of my life. My family - everyone should get a family like mine. My friends - @ogunmowo_dare friendship hitting close to 20 years. You will forever be my brother. My personal pastor. My colleagues - the amazing people of @capitalsageholdings , @johnventsgroup, @@kolomoni_ng, @ercas_hq, @johnventsfoods My team - The one and only Marcomms My leaders. Hmmm, my boss @johnalamu, thank you for never making me regret the leap of faith I took many years ago. You are the best! It was overwhelming in the best way possible. In a world where many relationships have become transactional, moments like this remind you that genuine human connection still exists. I do not take it for granted. To everyone who planned it, funded it, travelled, prayed, showed up, called, laughed, hugged, and celebrated me… thank you. In 2007, I took the red BRT from Iyana Ipaja to TBS to attend @theplatformnigeria. I left inspired and ready to take on the world. That encounter changed my life. Fast forward to May 1, 2026: attending The Platform again, but this time through the green room, accompanying my Group Managing Director @johnalamu , and having the privilege of shaking hands with the man behind it all. The same man who had the vision to build something that has touched my life and the lives of millions in ways I will never forget. Birthdays have a way of making you pause and look back. And today, my heart is simply full of gratitude. Gratitude is one of the oldest languages of the human spirit. Long before our time, people have lifted their voices in thanks. Farmers after the rain. Sailors after the storm. Kings after victory. Ordinary people after surviving another difficult day. Today, I join that long line of grateful hearts. Dear God, the man You have helped, the one to whom You have shown mercy, has returned once again to say thank You. It is by Your mercies that I am not consumed. Thank You, Lord. Life has its own storms and uncertainties, but your mercy has a way of resetting the score day by day. And for that, I am deeply thankful. For prayers answered and for the one yet unanswered. For everything I have and all I do not have. For when you open doors and when you left some shut. For when I succeed and even when I fall short. Today, I choose gratitude. For life. For growth. For family. For friends.
