Mourning the loss of my son son was not on my 2025 list… but here I am.. A week ago, I had to say goodbye. Sixteen years of life — one! six! — and I couldn’t be more grateful that God gave us that much time together.

If you knew Sammie, you know he lived a good life… honestly better than most humans. He was so loved, so cared for, and had the kind of personality that could make even a “non-dog person” fall in love. He loved people, loved being around family, and loved being the center of attention.

My heart aches in your absence, but I know you’re at peace. You were smart, funny, adventurous, and truly one of a kind. I’ll miss you forever. I love you, Sam. 🫂💔

It’s crazy how much can change in just a few months. We thought you were just being an old man, but things progressed so fast… I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. But Proverbs 3:5-6, right? 😅

Thank you to my village for keeping me grounded through all of this.
