“I tend to forget. Where I came from and who I am.” By Liyel Orieawah 🌅 (and probably some other guy on this planet earth but that don’t matter)

Anywho, this whole fashion thing for me took course as a way for me to feel more confident in myself. There came the times where all I was doing it for was the attention. The attention I ain’t get growing up. So I’m not gonna let all of it get to me. To let those factors define who I am. Not anymore. I do this because I want to and because I love to. I got goals. My family believes in me and my friends believe in me. Most importantly God believes in me. So over to the present time, I’m going through my mom’s closet and I’m in there taking things to put together an outfit. So then how does it tie into the fit? The jewelry (most of it) and scarf are my mom’s. You get the idea. As I’m looking through I’m just being hit with constant memories of where it is I’m really from, my culture and how I just wanted to get rid of all of it when I came back here (born in LA raised in Africa), hence the quote. The whole idea of being someone I’m not. Or hiding the real me from the people that I meet. From here on out imma try to be more me than I’ve ever been. But yeah heres to that uhh enjoy.
