We’re excited to announce our 5th Annual Gala: A Night at The Museum taking place on November 13th, 2026 at the Field Museum.

The ILLCF Annual Gala is more than a celebration. It is an opportunity to bring together Latino leaders, students, advocates, elected officials, and community partners from across Illinois to recognize the collective impact of our communities and celebrate the transformative work happening across the state.

Often referred to as the “Latino prom of the year,” the ILLCF’s Gala is one of the few spaces that brings together Latinos from every corner of Illinois for an evening of connection, culture, celebration, and purpose. It is a chance to honor our achievements, invest in future leaders, and strengthen relationships that advance our communities year-round.

As Latino communities continue to grow throughout Illinois, creating spaces for visibility, collaboration, and collective action is more important than ever.

Our annual gala highlights the Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation’s work in advancing leadership development, civic engagement, education, and public policy that reflects the voices and priorities of Latino communities.

Today marks a historic milestone for our Foundation as we launch our 25th Anniversary campaign!

We are proud to announce the acquisition of our new property in Springfield, creating a permanent home for our work and a lasting investment in the communities we serve.

Having a physical presence in our state capital is about more than a building, it is about visibility, accessibility, and commitment. This space will allow us to strengthen relationships, expand opportunities, convene leaders, and ensure that our community has a place where ideas, advocacy, education, and service can flourish.

As we look toward the future, this new home represents stability, growth, and our continued dedication to empowering the next generation of leaders.

Thank you to everyone whose support, vision, and hard work helped make this possible. We are excited for what comes next. taken in Springfield, Illinois by @illcfoundation

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an incredible evening a couple weeks ago celebrating the Latino community’s vital impact on food, art, and labor! At the Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation (ILLCF), we were proud to host this powerful event alongside our partners— IL Corn, the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council, and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

From an insightful panel discussion featuring local experts to a vibrant networking reception, it was an honor to gather alongside state legislators, community leaders, and advocates at the National Museum of Mexican Art in Pilsen.

Together, we celebrate and uplift the tremendous contributions of the Latino community that continue to shape Chicago, Illinois, and our nation.

Thank you to all who attended and for your continued partnership! 🌽🎨🛠️ taken in National Museum of Mexican Art by @illcfoundation

It was an honor for the ILLC Foundation to attend the LARES 50th Anniversary Summit: Honoring 50 Years of Resilience, Advocacy, & Advancement at UIC.
Celebrating 50 years of LARES was a truly meaningful experience. We had the opportunity to hear firsthand from both current and former LARES students about the impact the program has had on their educational journeys, careers, and lives. Their stories were a powerful reminder of the lasting impact that investing in students, creating opportunities, and building community can have for generations to come.

We are especially grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the incredible legacy of LARES and the students who continue to carry that legacy forward.

A special thank you to the LARES students who supported and helped us during the 2026 Raíces Conference. Your time, energy, and willingness to contribute made a meaningful difference, and we are so grateful for your support!

Congratulations to LARES on 50 years of resilience, advocacy, and advancement. Here’s to celebrating the legacy and looking forward to the next 50 years! 🎉❤️💙

It was a great first week of fall in the 12th District. My team and I were hard at work attending meetings and events while enjoying the cooler temperatures across the city.

We kicked off last weekend by attending the La Villita 2026 Hispanic Heritage Month Basketball Tournament, which returned this year after a three-year hiatus. This tournament is essential for bringing communities together to celebrate our culture and progress with great music, people and, of course, a little friendly competition. Congratulations to all the teams who participated in this year’s tournament, but special shout out to the West Michigan Raiders for taking the veterans championship and the La Villita home team for remaining undefeated throughout the tournament to take the men’s open championship.

One of the highlights of the week was participating in the Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation’s 2026 Raíces Public Policy Conference. This was a free, daylong event hosted at the University of Illinois-Chicago Forum to convene lawmakers, stakeholders and community members to discuss important topics essential to equity, justice and community development. Unlike typical conferences, Raíces highlights voices from across Illinois, acting as a driver of meaningful conversation centered around Latino communities. I was proud to host three panels during the conference: one highlighting how Raíces is meeting the moment, and two focused on community power and collective action. Thank you to the ILLCF and everyone who helped make this year’s conference a success.

This week I also joined Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs and his phenomenal team at their annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration in Chicago, where I was honored to receive an Outstanding Commitment as an Elected Official award. From Hispanic Heritage Month 2025 to now, so much has changed for Hispanic and Latino communities across the United States. Last fall, we watched as masked federal agents spent over two months in Chicago, ripping families apart, terrorizing our neighborhoods and committing injustice after injustice against law-abiding residents under the guise of targeting “the worst of the worst.” Al taken in State Senator Celina Villanueva by @illcfoundation
