As a kid, it was the Karloff Frankenstein that captivated my young mind. Years later, I would find the @the_monstrous_collection version. Now it looks like I need to add the @gdtreal version to the mix too.

" My mind is a center of Divine operation. The Divine operation is always for expansion and fuller expression, and this means the production of something beyond what has gone before, something entirely new, not included in the past experience, though proceeding out of it by an orderly sequence of growth. Therefore, since the Divine cannot change its inherent nature, it must operate in the same manner with me; consequently, in my own special world, of which I am the center, it will move forward to produce new conditions, always in advance of any that have gone before." - Thomas Troward

No amount of me going on about how tremendous this man's work is, was and forever will be, supercedes his actual efforts ...which one really should examine.

Do your actions support the person you're becoming, or the person you're outgrowing?

Equally important, do the people, places and things that you allow into your space align with your current, or do they flow against it?

Lastly, why do you allow such things to stifle your growth?

If you have the awareness to see it as such, you have the awareness required to change it.

In the end, whether we like it or not, it really amounts to "What did I settle for? What did I allow myself to become?"
Time will tell.

Whatever the answer is, I wish you the very best on your journey.

Call this book "Fuel for the fire"!
The irony in receiving this fantastic @frazettagirls gift today is that the 30+ year friendship from that whom sent it is even greater! @wskyb , you know I respect and appreciate the hell out of you!!!!

"Walk down the right back alley in Sin City...
and you could find anything." - Marv

The chances of me reading the @frankmillerofficial
book, "Push the Wall"...and not drawing a pic inspired by that very book...are ...well, I think it's pretty damn obvious. lol

Point of Fact: Everything begins in the mind.
Society has cleverly shaped and molded your thoughts, so you will learn to follow the herd.
So that you'll fit nicely into its cage.

The seeds of success or destruction do not grow in soil, but in your subconscious mind.

Stop blaming the past.
Stop blaming your background.
Stop waiting for permission.
Stop waiting for external sources to save you.
Within all of us lives a Creative Force.
How are you applying yours?

As a child, I had a very strong curiosity toward spooky themes...ghost, ghouls, cemeteries, old churches and the like.

My earliest recollections take me back in time to the late 70's, to a variety of local convenient stores, all of which had magazines such as Creepy, Eerie, and Famous Monsters of Filmland.
Those magazines, coupled with early morning Scooby Doo cartoons and a weekend show that was a cinematic thrill ride of classic monster films hosted by a local gent affectionately called "Superhost", kept me fueled and occupied.

Warren Publications was the company that made it possible for me to obsess over those magazines.
As of late, between the @frankmillerofficial book, "Push the Wall", and the @fantagraphics book "Empire of Monsters" (written by Bill Schelly) about Warren publisher, James Warren, those childhood memories, along with the youthful enthusiasm that accompanied them, have definitely been stirred!!!

Yes, I'm hinting at something here.
Stay tuned.🤫

As a kid who was always in search of an escape, I often found it in the form of one of three Warren publications: Creepy, Eerie or Famous Monsters of Filmland.
This illustration was started way back in 2004, but got lost in the shuffle and subsequently sat in a storage pile of unfinished art....until now.
I just finished today. 🙌
