POSTS STORIES REELS

Election Day coverage continues! This time, Positive Philter is coming to you from Fairfax City Hall, where I ran into my friend, local artist @theedollarsign.

He stopped by to exercise his right to vote and shared why participating in local elections matters, particularly when it comes to issues that directly impact him and the local arts community.

We also got his perspective on why it’s important to pay attention to local elections and make your voice heard.

And yes, he is LONG overdue for his guest appearance on the Positive Philter podcast!

If you’re a resident of the City of Fairfax, make sure you get out and vote. Polls close at 7 PM!

A quick disclaimer: I am not a resident of the City of Fairfax, and I do not endorse or oppose any candidate. The opinions and candidate preferences expressed by individuals featured in this video are their own. My goal is simply to encourage civic engagement and remind everyone to exercise their right to vote.

Your Vote. Your Voice. Your Community.

Election Day coverage is officially underway! Positive Philter is hitting the streets and campus throughout the day to talk about voting, civic engagement, and why every vote matters.

If you’re a George Mason University student who has designated on-campus housing as your voting residence, your polling location is Merten Hall, and polls are open until 7 PM.

I caught up with GMU student that_other_poet, who shared why exercising your right to vote is important to her.

Make your voice heard. Show up, cast your ballot, and encourage someone else to do the same!

Your Vote. Your Voice. Your Community.

🚨 BIG NEWS FROM THE UNOFFICIAL MAYOR’S OFFICE! 👑

I’m proud to appoint Lucas Cedeno Villegas as my Unofficial Deputy Mayor of Mason for the 2026-2027 academic year!

His energy is contagious, and I know he’ll help me continue building connections and uplifting the Mason community.

This video is completely unedited because I’m either lazy or wanted to capture the REAL emotion of this monumental moment. 😂

Congratulations, Lucas, on the appointment and your #illphilawards! The Unofficial Mayor has a deputy now. Mason Nation, we’re just getting started! 🏆

Since the start of the fall semester, CBM has partnered with Walt Whitman Middle School for their Boys to Men Program, in which we have provided insight on how to navigate life as a Black male when growing up!

From learning how to tie a tie, hygienic problems and solutions around daily life, how to apply to jobs, and even starting your own podcast, it has been an honor to sit down with them and give our knowledge! by @illphil500

After nearly 9 years, I’ve made a decision that may come as a surprise to many.

It’s something I’ve thought about, and I believe it’s time to take a stand.
Some things simply can no longer go unchallenged.

Before you jump to conclusions, hear me out.

Sunday Funday for the Wilkerson boys! 🏈🙌🏾

Bennett 🐻 (Bears) and Miles 🐦‍⬛ (Ravens) both picked up playoff WINS today and are advancing to the next round! Proud of these boys for their love of competition and the friendships they’re building along the way.

Shout out to our newest #illphilawards recipient, @tisfortaylorrr ! Her son Logan and Miles have hit it off playing flag football, and I’m glad their friendship has helped us build one, too!

The #illphilawards are BACK! 👏🏾 Follow the hashtag to see past recipients and keep up with the amazing people I’ll be recognizing through the rest of this year and into next fall.

Next round, here we come! 🏈💪🏾

What a great day at George Mason University for National Black Men Voter Day! 🗳️✊🏾

Shout-out to Fairfax City Mayor Catherine Read for proclaiming October 24 as National Black Men Voter Day! It was great connecting with community leaders from across Northern Virginia, having meaningful conversations, and sharing the moment with my dad.

I even handed out a few #IllPhilAwards for the first time in a while! 😂🏆

Keep showing up, staying engaged, and making your voices heard. This Black man votes!

🎙️ The Ryan Seacrest Top Host Contest journey continues!

I’ll be posting a video EVERY DAY on the Positive Philter Instagram page as I compete in this contest. I might add my personal page as a collaborator every now and then because I know y’all are going to get sick and tired of seeing my face on your feed 😂😂😂

But seriously, I appreciate everyone who has been supporting me and Positive Philter! Please keep voting for me. 🙏🏾 The link is in my bio!

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, use your voice where it matters most! 🗳️ The November 3rd midterm elections are coming up, and I encourage you to get informed, make your voice heard, and VOTE!

If you vote for me, that’s a bonus. 😉 But if my platform and the attention I’m getting can encourage even one person to participate in our democracy, that means something special to me.

So follow @PositivePhilter, keep voting in the contest, and PLEASE make a plan to vote on November 3rd!

I’m competing in the Ryan Seacrest Top Host contest, and I could use your support to help Positive Philter go all the way! Please take a moment to vote for me!

🗳️ While I have your attention, don’t forget to vote in the November 3 midterm elections. If you don’t vote for me, that’s okay, but make sure you use your voice where it matters most!
