I had the privilege of engaging with the Special Assistant to the President on Arts, Culture and Creative Economy on the future of Nigeria’s creative economy.

Art, Creativity & Possibility at “Timeless Capital.”

I was honoured to attend “Timeless Capital,” a curated art exhibition by Sterling Bank’s Uncover Naija initiative, following an invitation from the Head of Sterling Bank’s Tourism & Creative Business @habbyola.

Timeless Capital is a blend of culture, creativity, meaningful conversations and inspiring encounters. I had the privilege of reconnecting with my mentor, the Chairperson of Nigerias Governor’s Spouses Forum and the Founder of Ajike Peoples Centre, First Lady of Kwara State, Erelu Amb. Prof. Olufolake Abdulrazaq @flakeydee @firstladykwara and spending time with my brother, the Special Adviser to the President on Arts, Culture & the Creative Economy, Ayo Adeagbo @ayo_xtreme , alongside several distinguished guests and leaders within Nigeria’s creative ecosystem.

Beyond the beautiful atmosphere, what stood out most to me was the art itself. The creativity, stories, perspectives and emotions captured in the works on display were deeply inspiring. Each painting was a reminder that Nigeria is blessed with extraordinary talent, and that our creative heritage has immense economic value when given the right platform.

I particularly commend my partners @sterlingbank for going beyond simply celebrating creators to creating pathways for their talent to translate into real economic value. Providing artists with access, visibility, markets and opportunities to generate revenue at scale, is exactly the kind of ecosystem-building Nigeria’s creative economy needs. As a creative economy advocate and architect, together with my Creative Technology company @cifinesser are happy to be in such rooms to support.

The future of Nigeria’s creative economy will not only be about discovering talent; it will be about building the structure, platforms, markets and providing capital that enable talent to thrive.

@uncover_naija is a commendable initiative by Sterling Bank, and a timely reminder that intellectual property and creativity don’t just shape culture, it is capital.

The story behind ajọwà

ajowà wasn’t born in a boardroom, it was born from experience.

In 2022, while contesting for the Lagos State House of Assembly (Lagos Island Constituency I) in the APC primaries, I encountered a challenge that extends far beyond politics. Whether in NGOs, foundations, political organisations, or community groups, the same problem persists: resources intended for beneficiaries are too often delayed, misallocated, poorly documented, or lost before reaching the people they were meant to serve.

That experience inspired a question: What if organisations had a trusted system to manage people, distribute resources transparently, and measure real impact?

That question became ajọwà.

ajowà is Nigeria’s premier community engagement and grants platform, helping organisations digitise membership, coordinate outreach, verify beneficiaries, track participation in real time, and disburse empowerment/grants with transparency, accountability, and measurable impact.

We’re not just building software, we’re building the infrastructure for Trust. A system where every beneficiary is verifiable, every intervention is measurable, and every donor or leader can confidently see the impact of every kobo distributed.

The challenges that inspired ajowà still exist today, but so does our commitment to solving them.
