I’m going to hold your hand when I say this, but your glass skincare routine is shortening the lifespan of your permanent eyebrows.

Medical grade skincare and treatments are all the jam right now and I get it, but keep in mind that your skin doesn’t know the difference between unwanted pigment and purposeful pigment. Rule of thumb is that anything that’s designed to lighten, tighten, brighten, smooth, or reverse the signs of aging should be kept far away from your permanent makeup investment.

Just finished speaking at my very first conference. 🥹

And yes, I did it with butterflies in my tummy the entire time. 😂 But I truly couldn’t have asked for a better room to have my first experience in.

The love, support and openness from this group of artists was incredible.

I second guess myself more than I probably should, especially when it comes to stepping into spaces where I’m being asked to teach beyond the walls of Illume. So to stand in a room with women who have real skin in the game, who are talented and experienced in their own right, and still genuinely open to learning something new from me…that meant more than they probably realize.

Today reminded me that sometimes you have to stop waiting until you feel completely ready and trust that the years you’ve spent doing the work have prepared you for the room.

DAY 2 of @spcp_pmu 35th Annual Convention

8 years ago, while at a training in Toronto, I made a definitive decision and gave myself permission to walk away from something I was good at so that I could become great at something completely new to me. In the moment, closing that chapter of my life to step full time into permanent makeup felt so scary.

What a full circle moment today is. Here I am preparing to speak for the very first time in front of a room full of experts and peers about mastering Permanent Eyebrows for Global Complexions.

DAY ONE ✅ And my cup is FULL!

Such an incredible first day at the SPCP 35th Annual Convention @spcp_pmu connecting with so many talented colleagues, learning from some of the best in our industry, and getting to see my collaboration with @chancobeauty Micro-Pigments on display was such a special full-circle moment. 🥹🤎

After 9+ years in this industry, I still get just as excited about this work as I did when I started. I’ve had the privilege of serving incredible clients, building Illume, and training the next generation of permanent makeup artists… but getting to stand in a room with my peers, share what I’ve learned, and pour back into an industry that has given me so much will never get old.

I can’t wait to take the stage tomorrow to present “Brows for Global Complexions” - a topic that means so much to me and represents so much of the heart behind my work. by @illumeokc

It’s been over 3 years since we last did her powder brows. She came back and pigment was almost completely gone, which is sometimes exactly what we want.

Having an almost fresh starting place was a huge win because it gave us an opportunity to revisit the direction of where she wanted to take her brows.

During this particular visit, she shared that she had done an AI mockup of enhancements she was considering and it sent back a picture with a brow shape that looked almost identical to where we ended.

It was so much fun making her new brow goals actually come to life. If you’ve been on the fence, consider this your sign.🤎 by @illumeokc
