The experience doesn’t begin when I start lashing. It starts the moment I greet you in the lobby and continues as you step inside and settle in. There’s absolutely no shame in chatting or choosing a silent appointment. We can have a therapy session for hours or we can collectively pretend the outside world doesn’t exist so you can knock right out. This time is yours. A little corner of personality and presence! Not just decor – everything here is chosen to make the space feel grounded, inspiring, and alive. And some things are here simply because they look cool as hell. A soft place to land before your appointment begins—the corner where your belongings rest and the outside world gets put on DND. Texts or emails from your ex and adult responsibilities can wait… your lash nap cannot (≖⩊≖) Keepsakes that tell a story: from thoughtful client gifts to snapshots of my work. The studio scent is more than just a subtle mix of mahogany coconut, cashmere, and vanilla; it carries intention, gratitude, and manifestations in the making for this space and every soul welcomed in it. hi, i’m shella — the founder of @illuminosities. i’m actually a lot more shy than these photos suggest, but let me tell you more about myself: i have three children who eat for free and have never contributed to any bills (my cats). when i’m off the clock, there’s a good chance i’m watching minecraft videos because i have nothing better to do with my life. i’m also probably overwhelming myself with 17 creative ideas and projects at once because i’m too much of an overachiever for my own good. i love having a day off (in theory). i have a very calm exterior for someone with 47 tabs open in her brain. i’m either romanticizing a tiny detail or making it everyone’s problem. i like expensive things (shocker!) and work tenfold to provide them for myself. i can make a decision for your lashes in seconds but if you ask me what i want for dinner then we’ll be staring at each other all night. i also have a million different (and sometimes contradicting) hobbies, interests, and aesthetics - but somehow none of it is out of character because i’m always finding ways to put my own spin on things. the majority of my clients come from word of mouth and there’s a tiny portion i’ve met by catfishing them with an aesthetic instagram feed. they truly keep me grounded and humble. they’ve told me to touch grass an unreasonable amount of times, but we’ve also witnessed so many of each other’s milestones together over the years. i also like to travel (like, a lot), and i’m convinced all of my clients start experiencing separation anxiety the second i announce a trip. i see them more than my own friends, but this is the relationship dynamic, culture, and brand i’ve built these last few years. if you read through all my yapping, then this is also exactly the kind of personality you’ll meet at your appointment. bantering is a love language of mine, and i have a dark sense of humor that makes me both nervous and concerned for my overall wellbeing. i’m also a scorpio if that ties it all in. anyway, nice to meet you ♡ so much love and thanks to @papayashotthis for these photos! taken in Anchorage, Alaska by @illuminosities
