Photo - #Throwback ❣️I love you beyond measure! Thank you for sharing your heart so beautifully. Life can be deeply exhausting, and having someone like you step in and carry the weight when I just haven't been able to is the truest definition of frienhship, kindred spirit and family i could think of. Thank you for lifting me up when I felt completely depleted, and for reassuring me I would be okay even when I couldn't see it myself. You’ve held my hand, gently pushed me forward when I was ready to give up, and loved me exactly as I am—unconditionally, no matter what version of me you received. You know me better than anyone. When I bury myself in a dark place, you dig me out, and when I say the weight is simply too heavy for one person to bear, you hold me up and give me peace. Most of all, you know exactly what I need. Sometimes, you say nothing at all, simply holding my hand and watching a hallmark movie with me.When you can't be here, you send me little reminders that I am never alone. I pray everyone gets to experience a friendship as grand as ours—a bond that shows up in the hard times, the easy times, and everything in between. I love you endlessly, and I never want to know what life looks like without you in it.Thank you for holding my heart so gently, and for speaking to me in the language I understand best: music. The songs you’ve written for me are treasures I’ll cherish forever. But what I hold dearest is how you stood in the gap to pray for me when I lacked the strength to do it myself, and how you simply told me to rest, heal, and let you carry the rest. This journey is far from over and still unfolding, but knowing you are here every step of the way, makes it just that little bit easier.. @nvr777I love you endlessly xx 🥰😘..#BestFriendsForever #BFF #KindredSpirit by @illwah

Where to begin 🙈I finally ended up going home the end of April and made it home for 4 weeks and 3 days 🙏Reconstructive surgery was all scheduled for the 12th June. On May 27th I rolled over in my bed and my hip dislocated again!! 🙈They had to do an emergency closed reduction straight away as the dislocation was compressing my siactic and femoral nerves. (Put the hip in manually) I was then on to the ward to rest and wait for my surgeon to come up with a new plan. He decided to bring forward my reconstructive surgery and fix the damage of the dislocation at the same time. Directly after the closed reduction I couldn't feel my bum, leg or foot. We were hoping it was just the imflammation. Two days later he combined both surgeries and put in my 8th titanium hip replacement on that leg!! I was finally infection free. I've lost alot of bone due to infections in both my hip and femur, and I have so much ligament, muscel and tissue damage that only time will fix. 5 days later the NEW Hip replacement was completely full of staph again!!! 🙈 A different strain then the last one, that caused the last dislocation. The wound has had trouble closing as it has been through 9 times and is 32cm long. It has already burst open 3 times with blood and infection. Unfortunately 4 weeks on I still can't feel my bum, thigh, or foot, it will take approximately 3-24 months for the feeling to return because of the damage to the nerves.Too say I am COMPLETELY over it is an understatement!!! The tank is empty. I have been getting smashed with 9 litres of antibiotics a day. I'm critically low in hemaglobin even after blood transfusions as my body just can't catch up with surgery after surgery. The new plan is to wait till I'm infection free AGAIN and replace this brand new titanium Hip replacement with my 9th Hip replacement. But first we need to get on top of the infection and learn how to physically get around on one leg. I have no idea how long I will be here, it's already been a month. My hospital ward has become my family and I am extremely grateful for the same fimilar faces.I would love your prayers xx 🙏❣️ by @illwah

So this face really explains everything in the last 5 months. To think i have been in hospital this long is unfathomable. In the last 12 months I have been here for nearly 8 months now. I'm literally scared of my own shadow now. Not much more can happen then it has in the last 12 months. I've had 10 surgeries, MRSA Golden Staph, Sepsis twice, Bactermina, normal Staph twice, and the scariest of all and what's had me here nearly 5 months in a row with a 10 day break home is this rare bone eating infection that only 1% of people in the world get, and 70% don't make the first 12 months.I'm pretty numb to be honest and in disbelief most of the time. Dissociation is my new best friend. I'm usually the talker and I've gone quiet. It's impossible to even grasp the reality of the last 5 years let alone 12 months. My nursing ward has become my family and safe place, because it's extremely hard to talk to anyone about it all because it's emotionally taxing, and when I finally do, I find myself talking about everything else that is completely unimportant butttt what is actually happening to me as it makes me re-live it. I only have family visit to keep the risk of further infections at bay as I am completely immune compromised. I'm constantly telling others around me it's ok I will be alright, but I don't actually feel that way. It's like I have this need to over compensate by comforting others around me who show emotion towards what has happened to me, except myself. I am still on track for reconstructive surgery and praying the date doesn't change from June 12th. Then I'll be here for another long stay. Praying like mad there is no more hic ups that puts that date off, as I am holding on to it for dear life. In-between that, I hope I make it home for at least a few weeks before that. But I want to thank everyone for their prayers, messages and reaching out. I have had a peace at times that really does surpass normal understanding, and have needed that peace to get me through, because God knows I'm at my limit mentally and physically. So Thank you 🙏❣️..#HipReplacement #Sugery #Fightingwas by @illwah

Tomorrow is a big day. I have another major surgery tomorrow night that is more invasive then the others, which is saying something, and more risky due to the level of infection still present in my body and bones. So I've just been so encouraged by you all sharing my journey through reels, that I would love your thoughts and prayers. Your constant encouragement has really helped me, especially in the days that have been significantly harder. So i just want to take the time to thank each and everyone of you for all your lovely encouraging messages and DMs.. I read and appreciate them all.Love Emma xx ❣️🙏 by @illwah

So I got to see this guy today, Mr Moorse, after a pretty crappy day, and coming on close to 3 months soon that I've been in hospital. The last time I saw him the ambulance was there and he was crying really loud as I was too, and the ambulance were like, "Can someone get that dog away." I'm like "No let him through he needs to see if I am ok." As I had just dropped a draw on my foot and flipped over my walking frame and hairlined my pelvis. They let him come past and he ran straight to my face and put his tiny little paw on my tear, i swear he was trying to wipe them, he then just nussled into my neck and matched my crys and nearly volume and that's when the ambulance lady had a tear too. It was such a special moment. Then he ran to @gypsyatheartxo who calmed him down 🥰You know I have some more surgery coming up, and alot of other things and will be here for probably another 2 months which will make it around 5 months here, and thats if it all goes to plan, and right here was one of the most healing things that's happened for me. He saw me and leaped to me and I swear licked every inch and I didnt care a bit, because its the little things that heal us the most, and those kisses/licks healed a few holes I needed filling. Enough said ❣️😘..#GoodOldDogsAndGod #LoveDogs #LoveThisGuy by @illwah

So It's been up there with the hardest couple of days of my life. Which has now bought me to my HARDEST fight to date.As you know I have been fighting MRSA Golden Staph for nearly 6 months, and have shared many of the challenges that have happened along the way, as well as the surgeries and a few things inbetween. I was given some terrible news a couple of days ago. During my surgery last Monday they took some cultures and aspirations from my bones, and they have come back that I have an extraordinarily hard to fight fungal infection that has spread throughout my whole system, and is throughout my bones. It is about 10 times harder to fight than golden staph. As you can imagine my body is already incredibly weak after fighting MRSA for 6 months, and that's what happenes with other infections like this, they get in when your immune system is down. They believe it must have been growing in my system for about 2-3 months to have already got to this stage. As of now. I will have surgery on Monday, and they will have to take absolutely everything out again. The hip replacement, plates, screws, everything and fill it in again with concrete and antibiotics. Then I will be having 9 hours of IV antibiotics a day.Now the medical mortality rate is very low, but I believe in God, 🙏 and I believe in miracles, and most importantly the power of prayer, and we NEED that now. So im going to ask for all of those.I'm in for a really tough fight and I need your love, support, and prayers. Please know I don't know or have all the answers, and will not be readily responding to everyone, but I do read every message and they definitely help to encourage me, and I definitely need that encouragment now.For now I will bunker down and fight as hard as I can ❣️Love Emma xx by @illwah

This is a really hard post. I feel like the last 5 years in themselves has been incomprehensible let alone since I was diagnosed with Golden Staph MRSA and then getting Sepsis. On April 7th I had emergency surgery and that night had no idea the odds weren't in my favour, gotta love fentanyl 🥰 Clearly I made it. Then more surgery April 14th where they took out absolutely everything and filled the empty space where the hip replacement was with concrete and slow release antibiotics in the hope for it not to spread futher through all my bones. Then I was in hospital for 7 weeks. Then sent home with concrete in my leg filled with slow release antibiotics for 12 weeks until golden staph disapated enough for reconstructive surgery which happened Aug 21st. First 6 weeks were pretty peachy 🍑Week 7 got out of bed and my groin was killing, so was taken to hospital and was admitted for a week, had a bleed that was apparently caused from a stress fracture in my femur. Two weeks later, Monday just gone I pulled out my draw too get socks and the whole draw fell on my foot and I flew backwards over my walking frame straight on my hip, femur and pelvis, with my foot still stuck under the draw in the other direction. I was screaming in pain, called an ambulance who had to rearrange my room to get me here. I've been here 6 days now.I have had every scan you can imagine. More CTs, MRIs, another bone scan, and just had an ultrasound with a massive needle to aspirate fluid from the bone 🙈 (Not peachy) 🍑 to make sure the fluid has ZERO MRSA infection, before I have surgery Today. The aspiration is NEXT LEVEL (Seeing stars)All I know so far is I have 3 different breaks in my femur, my pelvis has hairlined and my 6th hip replacement may need the stem replaced. I also have a few broken bones in the top of my foot. I feel numb, I feel the chasm is winning and I can't keep digging my way out to stop myself from falling like it's quicksand. It's truly inconceivable as it is, but since March 25th, I have already spent close to 4 months in hospital, yeah for me 🙈Praying for onwards & upwards & Today's surgery 🙏@lovewell.earth.....#Surgery #INeedAWin #Breathe by @illwah

You are NEVER too old for a Care Bear!!! My beautiful friend Kerry @care_bear_kms found him and then bought me in, this limited edition tender heart care bare today, and I was beside myself with excitement and emotion, that she would go to the trouble to find him for me. When we were kids in our generation it was a luxury if most of our parents could even afford to buy you one. It's really hard to relate to people when you have had one trauma after the next, and the chasm gets bigger and bigger and before you know it, you allow VERY few people into your story, because the reality is, no one can comprehend what you're going through, and the last 6 months fighting golden staph having 5 major surgeries just about to have my 6th is unfathomable, and now I have another major surgery which looks like another 12 weeks no weight bare coming up.Giving me this little guy today Kerry, has meant more than you'll ever know. Thank you for being such a beautiful caring soul. I am so incredibly grateful to call you a member of my precious circle. (Nothing like another desensitised person in the mix hahaha) So thankful 🙏Just remember you are worthy of love and worthy to be loved, exactly how you are. ,❤️🩷🧡💛💚💙🩵💜🤎🖤🩶🤍 xx.......#CareBare #SpendingTime #ItsTheLittleThinhg by @illwah

You see, i will be OK, as I am a child of God. I believe everything is for a purpose, but im also allowed to be really pissed off with the hand I've been dealt, I am allowed to be really angry about the circumstances of how this has happened to me, and im allowed to feel all of it, I AM. It's times like this I need something tangible, to get through it, I need an anchor when I don't have the strength to hold on anymore (There have been many times throughout this journey I haven't). That anchor is God.So meet one of my new best friends, a Hip and Femur brace. I have 2 different breaks in my femur atm. It's completely split into 2 and has 4 cables holding it together and a new fracture down the side from my groin. Oh, and i did just have my 6th hip replacement in 5 years, so there's that. This helps me feel like it's holding everything together, and im not just gonna take a step and fall apart... I've been walking with this frame for 6 months, it's seems unfathomable, but it's happening. So yeah, I will be OK. I love that song @lauren_daigle But it's gonna take a while. And you know what?? That's ok, too, because God is my anchor 🙏😇❣️.........#Fighting #HipReplacemensts #BrokenFemur #BrokenBones #Braces@alo #HipReplacements #Infection #Surgery #GodIsGood #OneDayAtATime #OneDayAtATime❤️ #StillFighting #LoveYourPrayers #LoveYourEncouragment #Thankyou #Grateful #IFeelSoLoved #Grateful #MRSA #Thelittlethings by @illwah

Look at setback is a step-up from a come back. This was a hard week. Had to go back to the hospital and thought we were starting at step one again. I can not do one more step backwards. I was having terrible groin pain and was dragging my leg behind me, thinking I'm done, I'm completely DONE!!!! One can only take so much. But as I've allowed the week to progress, I've realised it's just a setback, and I can do a setback. Yes, I have another break in my femur, and I am on R.I.C.E. For 2-3 months, and are on new antibiotics for Golden staph, but I can do that for this body to heal. To give this body its best chance. Thanks to @Posyandflute_ stunning flowers!!Gods got me in the palm of his hand, and I trust that, so I gotta trust this... Thank you all for all your encouragement and love. It means soooo much more than you know ❣️🙏.............@alo #ICaDoASetBack #HipReplacements #Recovery #SunTime #ItsTheLittleThings #Surgery #GodIsGood #OneDayAtATime #OneDayAtATime❤️ #StillFighting #LoveYourPrayers #LoveYourEncouragment #Thankyou #Grateful #IFeelSoLoved #Grateful #MRSA #TheLittleThings #Coffee by @illwah
