The aim with ILO is to enhance quality, strength and artistic content for participating light festivals and create awareness for light festivals and light art worldwide.
Light festivals are events at the crossroads of art, design, technology and entertainment which gives them a very specific position from a festival point of view as well as in a cultural context and as a city marketing tool.

ILO wants to strengthen the position of light festivals on the level of artistic excellence and internationalization. Light festivals bring together an often very large but also very diverse and broad audience. Participants of ILO want to embrace this diversity and create festivals where there are as few boundaries as possible to have visitors get acquainted with art in public space.

💡🏮Festival svjetlosti Lumiart Dubrovnik ove godine održava se od 16. do 18. listopada 2026. u organizaciji Turističke zajednice grada Dubrovnika, u suradnji s Pixel Design i uz potporu Grada Dubrovnika. Tema i inspiracija je velika 400. obljetnica smrti Marina Getaldića, jednog od najznačajnijih dubrovačkih znanstvenika, matematičara i fizičara.

🕹️🪞Njegov rad na području optike, geometrije, zrcala i istraživanja svjetlosti polazište je ovogodišnjeg kreativnog koncepta festivala, u kojem će se dubrovačka znanstvena i kulturna baština povezati sa suvremenom umjetnošću i novim tehnologijama. Upravo će elementi znanosti i Getaldića objediniti čaroliju svjetla, projekcija, animacije i elektroničke glazbe, a povijesna arhitektura poslužit će kao platno i kulisa za suvremeni vizualni sadržaj i još jedan uzbudljiv susret s festivalom svjetlosti usred dubrovačke povijesne jezgre.

💥🚀Šesto izdanje Lumiarta će Dubrovnik tijekom tri festivalske pretvoriti u veliku pozornicu svjetlosne umjetnosti. Program festivala donijet će 3D mapping projekcije, svjetlosne instalacije, audiovizualne radove domaćih i međunarodnih umjetnika te sadržaje koji povezuju umjetnost, tehnologiju, znanost i dubrovačku baštinu. U Dubrovnik stižu mnogobrojni renomirani audiovizualni umjetnici koji će na prostoru stare gradske jezgre u ambijentu gradskih zidina, trgova i palača donijeti dašak futurizma. by @ilo.festivals

✨ 𝙄𝙇𝙊 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 ✨
SOLACE by @amelia_kosminsky (UK)

Solace is a large-scale installation of hundreds of hand-sewn willow lanterns, suspended as if caught mid-flight. Shown at Lumiere Durham 2025 and Spectra 2026 in Aberdeen, it evokes the fragility of the handmade and the power of collective thought, adapting to each site while staying intimate.

Festival svjetlosti Lumiart Dubrovnik ove godine održava se od 16. do 18. listopada 2026. u organizaciji Turističke zajednice grada Dubrovnika, u suradnji s Pixel Design i uz potporu Grada Dubrovnika. Prvotni najavljeni datumi su pomaknuti s kraja mjeseca na tjedan dana ranije!

Cijel Grad i povijesna arhitektura poslužit će kao platno i kulisa za suvremeni vizualni sadržaj i još jedan uzbudljiv susret s Lumiartom usred dubrovačke povijesne jezgre. Ovogodišnji festival tematski je posvećen 400. obljetnici smrti Marina Getaldića, jednom od najznačajnijih dubrovačkih znanstvenika, matematičara i fizičara. Njegov rad na području optike, geometrije, zrcala i istraživanja svjetlosti polazište je ovogodišnjeg kreativnog koncepta festivala, u kojem će se dubrovačka znanstvena i kulturna baština povezati sa suvremenom umjetnošću i novim tehnologijama. Upravo će elementi inspirirani svjetlom, optičkim fenomenima i vizualnim iluzijama biti dio umjetničkog smjera.

Тази вечер ,предстои да разберем кои са двамата големи победители в нашия конкурс. 🏆
Те ще бъдат отличени в категории "Награда на журито" и "Награда на публиката" и ще отнесат със себе си тези невероятни произведения на изкуството.

Великолепните статуетки са творение на Георги Апостолов @thracianstudio Роден в семейство на скулптори, той се занимава с изкуство още от дете. Завършва магистърска програма “Компютърни игри” в Националната художествена академия, а работата по специалността му го отвежда до създаването на безвременната сага Assassin's Creed.
Днес, Георги комбинира познанията си в сферата на скулптурата, с 3D дизайна и работи в сферата на 3D принта. by @ilo.festivals

Galerija prve večeri Visualia Festivala. ✨

Unatoč kiši, svjetla su zasjala, grad je živio festival, a astronauti su vodili posjetitelje kroz pulske ulice i instalacije.

Hvala svima koji ste nam se pridružili, sudjelovali i bili dio atmosfere prve večeri. 🤍

Vidimo se i večeras i sutra pod svjetlima!

Što kada biste mogli držati leptira na dlanu?

Interaktivnu instalaciju In a City of Flowers potpisuje Lou Chapelle, a čini je 12 malih drvenih kućica u kojima žive nježni holografski leptiri. Posjetitelji mogu pažljivo provući ruku unutar kućice i doživjeti iluziju leptira koji im slijeće na dlan — kratak i nježan trenutak koji djeluje gotovo stvarno.

Iza tog čarobnog susreta krije se i dublja priča. Instalacija prikazuje vrste leptira različitih sudbina - od onih koje još uvijek uspijevaju do onih koje su nestale iz pojedinih staništa - podsjećajući koliko njihov opstanak ovisi o biljkama, klimi i prostoru koji dijelimo s njima.

Nježan susret iluzije i prirode koji nas poziva da se zapitamo što zapravo znači stvoriti dom za vrste koje žive oko nas.

What if you could hold a butterfly in the palm of your hand?

Created by Lou Chapelle, In a City of Flowers is an interactive installation featuring 12 small wooden houses inhabited by delicate holographic butterflies. Visitors are invited to gently place their hand inside and experience the illusion of a butterfly resting in their palm — a fleeting encounter that feels surprisingly real.

Behind this magical moment lies a deeper story. The installation brings together butterfly species with very different destinies - from those that are still thriving to those that have disappeared from certain habitats - reminding us how closely their survival is connected to plants, climate and the spaces we share with them.

A fragile encounter between illusion and nature, inviting us to consider what it truly means to create a home for the species around us. by @ilo.festivals
