From a young age, we all fear the thought of losing our parents. They’re the ones who protect us, love us, and raise us. It’s something you know is inevitable, but you never really think it will happen to you, especially not as such a young age. I lost my dad when I was just a baby, so it was always me and my mom for as long as I can remember. Later, my siblings came along, but she was always my constant and my safe place. My mom lived every single day doing everything she could to make up for there being only one parent in my life. She worked tirelessly to make sure we had not just what we needed, but everything she could possibly give. She was my best friend, my number one fan, my biggest supporter, and truly the most important person in my life. My mom had the brightest heart and smile. She never let anything ruin her day and never carried hate or sadness in her heart. She was always singing and dancing even when she was in pain she still tried to make others smile. I’ll miss her hugs, her kisses, her voice, her smell, her laugh, her warmth, her kindness, and most of all, her love. I can only hope to become even half the woman she was. Her strength, her heart, and her spirit will live on through me and everyone who was lucky enough to know her. It brings me peace to know that she’s no longer suffering and that she’s reunited with my dad in heaven, wrapped in his arms, both of them watching over me and protecting me every day. I’ll think of her when the sun hits my face on a cold day, when the winds breeze picks up within the trees, and when the birds sing outside my window, i’ll know that it’s her sending her love and protection. Mama you’ll forever be in my heart. Thank you for being my everything. “Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.” John 16:22 by @ilonalet
