then & now ⏳

instead of doing a traditional grad shoot, i wanted to film a short symbolizing my transition from the beginning of college to the end. i am still the same girl at heart, hopeful and excited for the future, and ready to work my ass off to reach my goals (the list grows longer everyday). i am so grateful for the past four years and every opportunity I’ve received, all the lessons I’ve learned, and those who I’ve learned from. most of all, thank you to everyone who’s supported me in both small and large ways over the years. i wouldn’t be here without you. this is just the beginning 🤫😊

Maggie Davis (@ilovemagggie) sees film as a way to help people feel seen.

A New York-based director and creative, Maggie first started making videos as a kid with a handycam from her dad, using her two younger sisters as her first muses.

During Covid, she began creating short look books with friends making clothes at home and posting them online for fun. After moving to New York, brands discovered that work and started reaching out.

Maggie says her vision often comes together in post-production, but the intention stays the same. She wants the people in her films to feel empowered, proud of who they are, and seen in their full humanity. “It’s not about what you see,” she says. “It’s about what you feel.”

For Maggie, community is just as important as craft. After moving to New York alone at 19, she found connection through social media, but believes the most meaningful relationships are built in person, outside of work, and beyond the screen.
