This November 16, we take to the streets. As the Philippines hosts the 49th ASEAN Summit on November 16–18, 2026, with U.S. President Donald Trump in attendance, we stand in solidarity with the Filipino people and peoples worldwide resisting U.S. imperialism, wars of aggression, and plunder.

Trump’s visit is not about peace and prosperity for Southeast Asia. It is a reminder that U.S. imperialism continues to undermine the region’s sovereignty at the expense of the interests of the working peoples. The proposed Pax Silica Economic Security Zone (ESZ) in Tarlac is yet another foothold for U.S. expansion in the region. The project is already being touted as the country’s “defense-industrial and dual-use backbone.

This is an opportune time to expose U.S. imperialism’s global record of repression and aggression—from its crackdown on immigrants and dissenters, economic warfare against Venezuela and Cuba, and military escalation in Asia, to its aggression against Iran and support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

In line with the call of the International League of People’s Struggle for a Global Day of Action on November 16, we welcome people’s organizations and movements around the world to join us, undertake actions in their own countries, and amplify the call against imperialist war and plunder.

Kick Trump Out of the Philippines! Reject Pax Silica, Imperialist Wars, and Plunder! Sulong! (Move Forward)!

People’s Movements Protest Trump’s Agenda of War and Plunder Ahead of ASEAN Summit in the Philippines

Manila, Philippines — This November 16–18, the Philippines will host the 49th ASEAN Summit, with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. welcoming U.S. President Donald Trump. Behind the diplomatic fanfare is the push for Pax Silica, a deal that puts U.S. imperialist interests ahead of the Filipino people. While Marcos and Trump promise “progress” and “prosperity,” they are placing the country’s land, resources, and future at the disposal of U.S. military and economic domination.

“Trump’s visit is not about peace and prosperity for Southeast Asia. Behind ASEAN’s promises of regional cooperation and shared prosperity lies its failure to confront foreign intervention, economic dependence, and unequal power relations,” International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) General-Secretary Azra Sayeed said.

The proposed Pax Silica Economic Security Zone (ESZ) in Tarlac is yet another foothold for U.S. expansion in the region. The project is already being touted as the country’s “defense-industrial and dual-use backbone,” exposing its intended role in advancing U.S. military and economic interests under the guise of development.

Trump’s visit must be viewed within the U.S. “Pivot to Asia” strategy to contain China and preserve its global dominance through an expanded military presence in the Indo-Pacific. Under Marcos, the Philippines has become further integrated into the U.S. “First Island Chain” through expanded EDCA sites, larger Balikatan exercises, and increased U.S. military facilities and weapons deployments. The February 2026 U.S.-Philippines Bilateral Strategic Dialogue further advanced this integration through expanded military capabilities, missile and unmanned systems deployments, and closer cooperation with Japan and other regional allies.

📢🇧🇷 The Brazilian People Fightback Fascism!

📥 Statement of the ILPS on the Brazilian Presidential Election

🔸 Read the full statement: https://peoplesstruggle.org/en/the-brazilian-people-fightback-fascism/

The International League of Peoples’ Struggle congratulates the Brazilian people for dealing a blow to the resurgence of fascism in Brazil with the electoral victory of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (“Lula”) over US-backed fascist puppet Flávio Bolsonaro.

The people of Brazil fought back against the imperialist attempt to interfere in their election, remembering too well the years of Flávio’s father, Jair Bolsonaro, who served under Brazil’s fascist military dictatorship.

The ILPS congratulates the people in their victory and stands with them as they continue to fight for their rights, land, and livelihood in Brazil amongst the disastrous inter-imperialist competition over the resources and territory of Latin America and the entire world. by @ilps_official

Scrap Bangladesh’s surrender deal! Solidarity with Bangladesh’s Anti-Imperialism and Anti-War Alliance rally

Nijjor Manush stands in solidarity with Bangladesh’s Anti-Imperialism and Anti-War Alliance as they hold their national rally this Friday, 30th October.

We join their calls to scrap unequal international deals suffocating Bangladesh, including the US-Bangladesh Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART) signed earlier this year.

8 months of the ‘new’ Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-led government have seen them tread the same path worn by their predecessors: bowing to the US, appeasing the Gulf states, and keeping Bangladesh subordinate to foreign capital.

By fighting against the ART and deals to sell Bangladesh off to the highest bidder, the country’s Left continues to struggle for a genuine anti-imperialist politics in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh’s struggle for socialism and sovereignty are one! by @ilps_official

We denounce the Marcos regime’s puppetry to U.S. imperialism and its shameful decision not to cast a vote on the UN resolution demanding an end to the unjust, inhumane, and oppressive U.S. blockade against Cuba. by @ilps_official
