Het voormalige Gouvernementshuis was ooit een plek waar structuren werden georganiseerd en beslissingen genomen. Tijdens Design Fest Gent wordt het gebouw een tijdelijke ruimte voor nieuwe vormen van maken, denken en samenkomen.

Ontdek hoe materialen worden gesneden, gevormd en getransformeerd tot nieuwe ideeën, structuren en mogelijkheden.

The former Government House was once a place where structures were organised and decisions were made. During Design Fest Gent, the building becomes a temporary space for new forms of making, thinking and coming together.

ɴʟ | 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗛𝗔𝗠. 𝗔 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗠𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 — 𝗙𝗟𝗨𝗩𝗜𝗨𝗦-𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗘
Op de voormalige Fluvius-site in Parkham, waar OCUP vzw huist, ontstaat ruimte voor ontmoeting, experiment en samenwerking. Geen afgewerkt plan, maar een plek in beweging. Zeven ontwerppraktijken, Loulou João, Shirley Villavicenzio Pizango, aequo.design, Leto Keunen, Nomie Vandenaweele, Eric Treillard en Manoeuvre, en studenten Design for Impact van LUCA School of Arts gaan er samen met buurtbewoners, fauna en flora aan de slag. Vanuit verschillende praktijken en perspectieven onderzoeken ze wat er leeft, wat nodig is en wat kan groeien. Ideeën, ingrepen en experimenten ontstaan samen met de buurt: soms klein, soms zichtbaar, soms nog volop in wording. Parkham is geen eindpunt, maar een gedeelde plek waar nieuwe manieren van samenleven kunnen ontstaan.

ᴇɴ | 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗛𝗔𝗠. 𝗔 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗠𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 — 𝗙𝗟𝗨𝗩𝗜𝗨𝗦-𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗘
On the former Fluvius site in Parkham, home to OCUP vzw, space opens up for encounter, experimentation and collaboration. Not a finished plan, but a place in motion. Seven design practices, Loulou João, Shirley Villavicenzio Pizango, aequo.design, Leto Keunen, Nomie Vandenaweele, Eric Treillard and Manoeuvre, together with Design for Impact students from LUCA School of Arts, work alongside local residents, fauna and flora. Starting from different practices and perspectives, they explore what is alive here, what is needed and what might grow. Ideas, interventions and experiments emerge with the neighbourhood: sometimes small, sometimes visible, sometimes still taking shape. Parkham is not a finished destination, but a shared place where new ways of living together can emerge.

DADA Chapel is een creatieve stokerij in het hart van Gent, gevestigd in een voormalige kapel en koetshuis met een geschiedenis die teruggaat tot de 13e eeuw. Geïnspireerd door de dadaïstische beweging omarmt de plek experiment, onconventioneel denken en één eenvoudig credo: “In Odd We Trust.”
Voor Design Fest Gent opent DADA Chapel de deuren als een van de festivallocaties.

Vertrouwde vormen krijgen een vreemde wending wanneer Sharon Van Overmeiren & studio LOHO alledaagse objecten transformeren tot speelse sculpturale werelden.

ᴇɴ | 𝗗𝗔𝗗𝗔 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗘𝗟 — 𝗟𝗢𝗛𝗢 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝘀: 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗮𝗻 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗻

DADA Chapel is a creative distillery in the heart of Ghent, housed in a former chapel and coach house with a history stretching back to the 13th century. Inspired by the Dada movement, the place embraces experimentation, unconventional thinking and one simple credo: “In Odd We Trust.”
For Design Fest Gent, DADA Chapel opens its doors as one of the festival locations.

Familiar forms take a strange turn as Sharon Van Overmeiren & studio LOHO turning everyday objects into playful sculptural worlds.
