We get so busy wishing for more that we forget to cherish what we already have. 🤍☀️

A little sunshine ☀️ , freshly washed hair drying in the breeze 🍃 , my little boy finding joy in a simple dry leaf 🍂 , and dad off playing cricket 🏏 .

Looking for the best free things to do in Christchurch with a baby?

We took our baby to the Air Force Museum of New Zealand in Wigram, and it is easily one of our favourite stroller-friendly activities in Chch! 🎟️✨ @airforcemuseumnz

If you need a low-stress, budget-friendly family day out, this is it.

It’s the perfect rainy day activity for kids because the wide-open spaces make it so easy to navigate with a pram. Plus, all the giant wings and propellers kept our little one completely captivated the entire time. 🙌❤️

🌸 How to get Pinterest-worthy cherry blossom photos in Christchurch! 📸🤍

1. WEEKDAY > WEEKEND

🤫 My biggest insider tip: GO ON A WEEKDAY

If you want those dreamy photos without 500 people accidentally appearing in the background…

Choose a weekday if you can.

🌸 Weekends = generally busier
🌸 Weekdays = more space + fewer people
🌸 Early weekday mornings = even better

You don’t need a private garden — you just need a quieter time.

2. PICK THE RIGHT SPOT

📍 Location matters

Christchurch has some gorgeous public blossom spots, but don’t just stop at the first pretty tree you see.

Walk around first and look for:
🌸 branches that hang low
🌿 natural greenery around you
📸 a clear background
✨ trees that can frame you from both sides

The prettiest tree isn’t always the prettiest photo.

3. OUTFIT TIP

🌸 Let the blossoms be the star

Colours that photograph beautifully around cherry blossoms:

🤍 Cream
🤎 Beige
🩷 Soft pink
🩵 Muted blue
👖 Denim
🌿 Soft neutrals

For family photos, coordinate rather than perfectly match.

Think: same colour story, different outfits.

4. DON’T OVERPOSE

That little bit of blur in the foreground = instant dreamy effect. ✨
