2025 recap - I aimed for at least 9 races, but only managed 6. Started the year strong, ended with months of injury, reflection, and recovery. Challenges come in ways we don’t expect — and how we face them is what counts.

Aleps Ekiden Half Marathon - Sep 7th, 2025
Distance: 5.3KM
Position: 8th Mixed Open

After my last race back in June, I had to let go of 3 running events—including PECO, my A race—thanks to injury haha (IYKYK).

Then @alifhaiqalss came along asking me to form an Ekiden team. I resisted at first (because hello, injured + not in shape), but he “convinced” me it was just for fun… no target, no pressure. Spoiler: I got scammed. 😂

We only started training in mid-July, and unlike them—who were hyped for every Monday track—speed workouts made me nervous. It’s my least favourite 🤣 but I showed up anyway.

That 5km was not easy—I think it was the hardest 5km I’ve ever done. Took me 7 weeks to shave off less than a minute 🤣 but hey, a PB is still a PB.

Shoutout to my teammates: @hey.wanridhzo , always up for new challenges; @daxsonvill , keeping us laughing while staying committed; and Alif, the ever-optimistic speed junkie. @j.jainis for accompanying & pacing me for most of my sessions with them, @wueekk , @shahmeerazmi & @mizul_aimran , who sometimes casually joined our sessions. You guys made the hard sessions fun and memorable. 🙌

Right now, I’m still managing my injury, so the grind will wait. Recovery is my top priority. But I’m glad I said yes to this.

Big thanks to @rul3over for the trust and opportunity. This wasn’t just about Ekiden or the events, but about meeting amazing, hardworking & kind souls along the way. Can’t wait for more collabs & growth with the team 🚀
