THE CHAMPION OF MANGA EDUCATION FROM THE WEST JOINS THE GIANT HUNT

We are honoured to welcome Kofi M Bazzel Smith, the first Professor of Manga Practice in the United States, to the international jury panel of The GIANT Hunt.

A manga artist, educator and cultural bridge-builder, Kofi is bringing Japanese-style manga into university-level education in the USA, connecting the traditions of Japanese manga with a new generation of global creators.

His work spans manga, immersive exhibitions and multimedia storytelling, while his commitment to strengthening cultural exchange between the US and Japan extends through his academic and international initiatives.

As a jury member of The GIANT Hunt, Kofi brings a distinctive perspective shaped by both manga practice and global creative education.

We are excited to have him join our international jury as we discover and celebrate the next generation of manga artists.

🐘🎨 From tradition to creation — Vinayagar takes shape through creativity!

IMAGE Creative Education, Anna Nagar, Chennai, brought students and creative enthusiasts together for a hands-on Vinayagar Clay Moulding Workshop, where traditional craftsmanship met the fundamentals of 3D form and design.

✨ The workshop explored how simple 3D shapes can come together to create a complete sculpture — using a paper plate as the base, cylinders for the hands and legs, and spheres to build the abdomen and chest. Participants learned how understanding basic forms, proportions, and structure can transform an idea into a meaningful creation.

Before the workshop, our Anna Nagar students also presented a documentary exploring the traditional Vinayagar mould-making craft as a generational livelihood. The documentary featured a craftsman from Kosapet, Chennai, offering a glimpse into the people, process, and tradition behind this beautiful art form.
