How does a festival with Robert Plant, Mavis Staples, My Morning Jacket and dozens of other major artists remain completely FREE?

That is the remarkable thing about Hardly Strictly Bluegrass.

For three days, Golden Gate Park became one of the biggest stages in San Francisco, bringing American roots music and its many outgrowths to the city with no tickets, no admission charge and no commercial sponsorship driving the experience.

The 2026 festival brought together artists including Robert Plant with Saving Grace, Mavis Staples, My Morning Jacket, Lukas Nelson, Jon Langford, Jesse Welles, Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Sierra Hull and many more across the festival's stages in Hellman Hollow, Marx Meadow and Lindley Meadow.

But the free admission is more than a nice festival perk.

It is the point.

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass was created from Warren Hellman's wish to give San Francisco and the world a free outdoor music festival. The Hellman Foundation continues that mission, describing the festival as a gift built around music, community, inclusivity, creativity, mutual respect and the simple joy of being together.

And in 2026, that gift brought an extraordinary lineup into Golden Gate Park.

Thousands came for the music. Hundreds of thousands have made this festival part of San Francisco's cultural life over the years. And for three days, the park belonged to everyone.

This is Hardly Strictly Bluegrass.

Robert Plant at 78, still commanding the stage.
And at a festival where admission costs nothing, that feels pretty remarkable.

The Led Zeppelin legend closed the 2026 Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park with Saving Grace and Suzi Dian, bringing one of rock's most recognizable voices to a festival built around American roots music, folk, blues, country and everything those traditions have inspired.

Taylor Swift has never treated a music video as just a music video.

At the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, that side of her career took center stage as she received the inaugural Artist Director Honors, recognizing her work behind the camera and her influence on visual storytelling.

The night also saw the world premiere of “Patient Zero,” directed by Taylor and starring Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson.

For an event built around music videos, it felt especially fitting to see the artist behind the camera get her own moment in the spotlight.

Some stories feel different when they return to the place where they began.

For the first public screening of The Social Reckoning, imageSPACE was there in Mountain View, California, on assignment for Sony Pictures — documenting a night that brought Aaron Sorkin’s latest film back to the heart of the story it explores.

Following the screening, Sorkin joined Kara Swisher for a conversation about the film, its characters, and the real events that inspired it. Set against the Facebook Files and the whistleblower story of Frances Haugen, the film revisits one of the most consequential chapters in Silicon Valley’s recent history.

For imageSPACE, it was another opportunity to document a major studio moment where film, technology, and culture meet.

The Social Reckoning opens exclusively in theaters October 9.

TIFF 2026 had 293 films. These are just a few of the premieres that made Toronto feel impossible to ignore. 🎬

From dark comedies and emotional romances to psychological thrillers and wildly original genre films, the 51st Toronto International Film Festival brought an enormous range of stories, filmmakers and performances to the city.

And with 293 titles across the 2026 Official Selection, there was far more happening than could ever fit into one carousel.

These are just a few of the films and faces we had the chance to capture along the way:
- The Debut.
- Love of Your Life.
- Alpha Gang.
- Bunker.
- A Talent for Murder.

Five very different films. Five completely different worlds.

That's the thing about TIFF — you can walk into one premiere expecting one kind of movie and leave talking about something completely different.

As the festival wraps, we're looking back at some of the people and premieres that made TIFF 2026 such a memorable week in Toronto.
Which TIFF 2026 premiere are you still thinking about?

Three TIFF 2026 premieres. Three completely different ways to make an audience lean forward.

The Debut brought Jesse Eisenberg back behind the camera, with Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti at the center of a darkly funny story about a housewife who becomes consumed by community theatre. The film quickly became one of the titles people were talking about around the festival.

Then there was Love of Your Life, Rachel Morrison's emotional romantic drama starring Margaret Qualley. The film follows Maya through love, loss and the attempt to build a new life after heartbreak — and its TIFF premiere put Qualley's performance firmly into the festival conversation.

And Alpha Gang brought something completely different: a sci-fi comedy from the Zellner brothers with an ensemble including Lily-Rose Depp and Léa Seydoux.

Three films. Three tones. Three reasons TIFF continues to be one of the most fascinating stops on the fall film calendar.

Which one would you put at the top of your watchlist?

TIFF 2026 opening night was already buzzing — and Toronto came ready. 🎬

The red carpets were packed, the premieres were generating conversation, and some of the festival’s most anticipated films were finally meeting their audiences.

Among the opening-night premieres was The Housewife, Ben Shirinian’s feature debut, bringing Naomi Watts, Tye Sheridan and Luke Evans together for a tense historical drama that has already become one of the films people are talking about coming out of TIFF.

There’s something different about seeing a film arrive at a festival like this for the very first time. No reviews yet. No audience reactions to rely on. Just the cast, filmmakers, cameras and that feeling that you might be watching the beginning of a much bigger conversation.

And that’s what makes TIFF so exciting — you never quite know which film is going to become the one everyone is talking about next.

Naomi Watts arrives at TIFF 2026 with one of the festival’s most intriguing world premieres.

For The Housewife, Watts takes on Hermine Ryan, a woman whose seemingly ordinary life in 1960s New York begins to unravel when a journalist investigates her husband’s hidden past.

The film premiered in Toronto on opening night, and the story has already sparked conversation because it isn't simply a historical thriller — it digs into identity, memory, complicity and what happens when a carefully constructed life begins to fall apart.

And seeing Watts bring that character to the TIFF red carpet made this one of those festival moments worth remembering.

Remembering Dolly Parton — a legend whose voice, songwriting, kindness, and unmistakable spirit reached generations. 🤍

Dolly Parton has died at 80, leaving behind a legacy that goes far beyond country music.

For more than six decades, she built a career that crossed boundaries — from country music and songwriting to film, television, Broadway, business, and philanthropy. Songs like Jolene, 9 to 5, Coat of Many Colors, and I Will Always Love You became part of the fabric of American music, while her generosity and commitment to literacy through the Imagination Library touched millions of lives.

But perhaps what made Dolly different was how effortlessly she connected with people.

She could be larger than life and completely relatable at the same time. She made people laugh, made people sing, and somehow made generations of listeners feel like they knew her.

Her influence reached far beyond Nashville or country music. She became a true American cultural icon — beloved by country fans, pop audiences, Hollywood, musicians, families, and generations who discovered her music long after it was first released. Tributes pouring in from across entertainment are already reflecting just how wide that impact was.

Today, we're remembering the artist, the songwriter, the actress, the philanthropist — and the woman who proved that authenticity can become a legacy.

Dolly Parton leaves behind a catalog of music that will outlive all of us.

What is the first Dolly Parton song, movie, or memory that comes to mind when you hear her name? 🤍

Latin music isn't coming to the United States. It's already here — and Karol G is taking it to the stadiums. 🇨🇴🔥

Karol G's Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour is turning some of the biggest stadiums in the United States into celebrations of Latin music, Spanish-language music, and culture — and the scale of this tour says a lot about where American music culture is heading.

From Chicago and Las Vegas to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Miami, New York and beyond, Karol G is bringing música latina to massive U.S. audiences — not as a niche moment, but as one of the biggest forces in live music right now.

And the numbers behind the movement are hard to ignore.

Latin music now represents 9.4% of U.S. music streams, according to Luminate's 2026 midyear data. That's a remarkable shift in a market where Spanish-language music continues to move beyond its traditional audience and become part of the mainstream American listening experience.

Karol G sits right in the middle of that evolution.

She's not simply performing Latin music for a Latin audience. She's filling American stadiums with a sound, language and culture that continue to cross borders — while making Spanish-language music impossible to overlook.

That's what makes photographing a tour like this so exciting.

You're not just documenting a concert.

You're documenting a cultural moment.

• The lights.
• The crowd.
• The scale.
• The movement.
• The emotion.
And that unmistakable connection between Latin music and the people experiencing it live.

Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour is a reminder that Latin music has become a major part of the American music landscape — and this is only getting bigger.

What do you think has been the biggest reason Latin music has exploded in the U.S. over the last few years? 🇺🇸🌎
