I work in mixed media because I’m drawn to experiments and combining things together.

Painting, drawing, linocut, collage, colored pencils, watercolor, ink, and more. Digital is part of it too. As a graphic designer by profession, I sometimes animate my paintings using digital tools.

In this space, I share selected pieces of that process.

I’m not chasing trends designed to keep algorithms well fed. I’d rather spend that time actually enjoying the process of making.

So you probably won’t find my talking head here or a neatly packaged, sped-up “from A to Z” creation journey, unless the algorithm starts appreciating awkward silences and paint drying in real time. by @imagohanna

"The Artist"
Identity not as a form, but a process.

The “self” appears to reduce to perception as if seeing could replace being.
The role detaches from the body and begins to move with a logic of its own.

Between what is visible and what we call “ourselves,” a tension emerges: fluid, unstable, in constant transformation.

At times, experience appears as if it unfolds on two registers, the one that lives it and the one that observes from a slight distance.

As if within there were a quiet observer, not outside the system, yet never fully identical with it, organizing, shaping, momentarily slowing the flow of experience into form.

And yet, it may not be two separate states at all, but a single field of tension: between immersion and distance, between being inside experience and holding it in awareness.

The “self” arises precisely in this oscillation, never fixed on either side, never fully one or the other. by @imagohanna

If the universe is the answer, what is the question?

I have experimented with form, texture, layering, and contrast. It is always an engaging process for me, as a story gradually emerges layer by layer.

I’m fascinated by forest life, that’s why I so often paint it. Especially these little fellas.

Did you know forests have their own underground internet? The Wood Wide Web is a vast mycelial network connecting tree roots, allowing plants to exchange nutrients and chemical signals.

This is extraordinary kingdom of 150,000+ species. Once mistaken for plants, they’re actually closer to animals. Some glow in the dark (bioluminescence), others hunt microscopic nematodes using their hyphae.

There’s still so much we don’t understand about them.

This piece was created using watercolor, colored pencils, and fineliners.

Bird-like and Mycelium

Sometimes I like to build collages from drawings I’ve made before.
They don’t come from one moment. It happens there are weeks or months between them. One day I paint mushrooms, another I create a chaotic background, and another I tweak and color a figure cut from a magazine.

Then when time comes I decide to sit down, start playing with these pieces, and a completely new story comes out to life.

In this project, the following pencils took part: Caran d’Ache, Derwent, Koh-i-Noor, Faber-Castell, Posca and others. Also markers, fineliners, watercolors and acrylics. Truly mixed media 😎

I enjoy creating collages like this using hand-painted prints, markers, and pencils. I can turn them into posters or leave them as they are. It’s also fun to bring them to life as short animations, for example in Canva.
