Got to run the 100 out on some dirt roads before the expo this weekend. Took the first photo during the last moments of light after scoping out some shoot locations. Bend is incredible, looking forward to making it back here, hopefully soon. My skin is burned, and I’m ready to be home—time to hit the road!

Got to spend a winter weekend out with @gme_usa, @aussie_tacoma and a bunch of our industry friends while running trail on the Naches. Didn’t expect riding shotgun with Dyllon to be the highlight, but it was. I sure do miss hanging out with this guy! by @imandrewjones

Quick two-day run out to the Tieton area for some trad climbing and camping. First day out on rock this year. It was cold, windy, kind of miserable… but that was expected and it was still a great time. Always grateful for friends willing to jump on a last-minute “plan” and just wing it. We found this cool spot to camp on a whim but the wind was unsurprisingly merciless. Was thankful for the @jamesbaroud Evasion, it passed the gap wind test with flying green and brown colors 💨 by @imandrewjones

Got out and scouted a zone for an upcoming shoot this last weekend. @wandering.woods10 just happened to be in the same area and was kind enough to let me borrow a few hours of her time. I had zero expectations going into it but ended up walking away with a few photos that’d work for what I’m working on, which felt like a pretty nice win in my book. Definitely coming back out here.
It was also super fun mixing a little foot-powered adventure in with the 4x4 stuff — These are just a few personal favorites. by @imandrewjones

I know most of you are here for truck stuff… and I don’t post much anyway, but when I do, it’s rarely trucks anymore. That’s just where I’m at in life.

I got on Instagram a long time ago because I love photography. It was a place where people shared photos with friends or just with the world, it felt like a community. Punchy colorized filters, dutch tilts, and punny hashtags. It was a much less serious place. Now it feels more like a marketing and data gathering machine… (because it is) which is why I try not to spend too much time here.

I still have trucks, and I still get out. But I just try to live in those moments instead of turning them into content. That said, I’ve been shooting a ton lately. I finally took the leap and started a photography business specialized around outdoor lifestyle and commercial events—It feels really good to set my own terms and a hard line between work and life. I’m so thankful that at least a few people enjoy the way I see this world enough to pay me for it.

All this to say: the next several posts aren’t truck-related. But I do have some in the pipeline. I was just digging through some work from the summer and found a few that stuck with me—mostly because of the artists themselves or the memories attached to the moments I shot them. These photos are by no means life altering, just special to me.

The person in the photo of this post is my good friend Nichole! She’s one of the hardest senders in our climbing group and a pretty good photographer, too. She helped me capture the photo sets from a few of these shows that I’m going to share. by @imandrewjones

I’ve been reaching for film more than digital lately, at least to capture personal moments. I’ve decided that it’s mostly to challenge my creativity but I think more importantly to slow down. There’s something about the deliberate nature of film that feels grounding, especially in a world that moves too fast.

I first started shooting 35mm around 2000 on a Minolta XE-7 that my dad had passed down to me. It was a little black brick—absurdly heavy in the hand but in its own way, kind of elegant. It’s built on the same chassis as the Leica R3 with a buttery shutter and a self timer that worked only half of the time. It came slung on an old guitar strap, I felt really cool. That camera traveled with me through so many chapters of life. Capturing my family while everyone was still alive… healthy, my high school prom, my first marriage, my friend’s marriages, the birth of my kids, their first wobbly bike rides, hikes through the mountains. I documented just about everything that felt important at the time.

But life shifted, or shattered—drastically and slowly—and so did I. The camera got packed away during one of many moves, along with rolls of undeveloped film that I’m sure are still collecting dust. I compartmentalized that part of my life, the memories, all of it, into a medium sized moving box.

Recently, a friend of mine, Marc @4x4shocktech inherited a collection of film and digital gear from his dad—mostly if not all Nikon, a system I shot on for around a decade and still had a few lenses for. He offered me one of the old bodies, and I couldn’t say no. It felt like a reminder… So I took it. My goal is to shoot at least a roll of film a week through spring and summer. I’m excited to see where it goes, if anywhere beyond an album for my kids to look through someday. by @imandrewjones

Cup is full, what a rad weekend! Knocked out the first outdoor climb of the year, E got his first camping trip in and to wrap each day—hours around campfires with the homies. Honestly couldn’t ask for more than that!

Better late than never - These frames aren’t in any particular order but just a collection of some of my favorite memories from this past year. 2024 was the year my son was born, a year of conscious growth and career change, another year to fall even more in love with my incredible partner. I’m glad to have had the opportunity to capture so much of it. Many weren’t pictured here… but I love you all. We’re gearing up for an exciting 2025, so I’ll do my best to share our story ❤️ by @imandrewjones
