✨2024: A Year of Growth and Gratitude✨

This year has been filled with challenges, wins, and so much growth.

🌸Brown Girls of Tomorrow hosted our first EmpowerHer Spark Conference, connecting young girls with women in pharmacy, mental health, and architecture. We launched a free clothes closet, giving families the resources they need to thrive.

🌸 Personally, I became a published author and even partnered with a publishing agency to amplify others’ stories. I spoke at the Trailblazers Conference, advocated for mental health at community walk, and was honored to receive the Community Impact Award.

🌸I also went back to grad school, rebrand my consulting business into The BOLD Effect Consulting, and navigated the challenges of postpartum depression after having twins. With faith, community, and my incredible husband by my side, I found my way back to me.

🌸 This year has been about healing, rediscovery, and stepping boldly into God’s purpose. 🩷✨

🍎✨ Praying for all of my fellow educators this week. ✨🍎

As many of us head back to school this week to prepare for our students, I just wanted to take a moment to pray over each and every one of you.

I pray for your mind, your body, and your classroom. I pray that this school year is filled with peace, grace, wisdom, patience, and joy. I pray that God covers you, protects you, and gives you exactly what you need for every student who walks through your door.

Know that you already have everything within you to pour into the students God has assigned to you this year. You will make an impact. You will make a difference. You are enough, and you will be okay.

When doubt tries to creep in, remember that you were called to this. God handpicked you for this season and for the students in your classroom. He doesn’t call the qualified—He qualifies the called.

As I close out my first year of teaching, I can honestly say I’ve learned so much about myself. I’ve discovered that I’m stronger than I thought, more capable than I could have imagined, and more passionate about education than ever before.

This year stretched me, challenged me, and helped me grow in ways I truly needed. I advocated for my students, celebrated their progress, and watched them grow academically and personally — and somewhere along the way, I grew too.

Teaching isn’t easy, but it’s meaningful work, and I’m so grateful I said yes to education. I’m grateful for every lesson this first year has taught me and every student who helped shape this journey.

Sometimes the stillness will teach you what the noise never could.

The past few months shifted something in me. Not because everything was perfect—but because I allowed myself to be still, quiet, and intentional. I experienced transitions that forced me to learn myself on a deeper level… and for once, I didn’t rush through it.

What felt like a “sit down” wasn’t punishment—it was alignment.
It was clarity.
It was preparation.

I’m used to pushing through, showing up on empty, and putting everyone else first. But this season required something different. It required me to choose me. To rest. To protect my peace. To prioritize moments with my family in a way I hadn’t before.

Because the truth is—materials, opportunities, and things can come and go… but time cannot be replaced.

And that realization changed me.

I’m walking into what’s next refreshed, grounded, and grateful—not just for what’s coming, but for what God is doing in me and through me.

🎓✨ I really did it. Today I walked across the stage and received my Masters of Public Administration.

From a 20-year-old mama with no plan… to a mama of 3, a wife, a multi-business owner, educator, and first gen graduate. 🙌🏾

This journey wasn’t easy there were sleepless nights, sacrifices, health challenges, and setbacks that tried to stop me. But through motherhood, wifehood, and business, I kept pushing. And today proves it was all worth it.

To every mama: don’t give up. You may pause, pivot, or start over, but your dreams are still valid.

This is BOLD MamaHood — refusing to shrink and proving mamas can do it all.

This weekend, another pivot happened. ✨

After sitting on it for almost two years, I finally stepped into something that’s been tugging at me for a while.

BoldMamaHood had its soft launch. BoldMamaHood is an extension of The Bold Effect Consulting.

It’s a space for moms in business to be seen, supported, and reminded that they can do motherhood and entrepreneurship boldly, without losing themselves in the process.

Perfectionism definitely tried to creep in. Telling me I didn’t have enough, that I needed to wait, that I wasn’t ready. But then I heard God say, “You already have everything you need in your hands.”

So I moved. Scared. Unsure. But obedient.
If you’ve been waiting on perfect, this is your sign. Move with what you have.

Say yes and let God do the rest.

Let the BoldMamaHood begin.
